‘THE VOICE’ FOR 10TH BIRTHDAY SHOW! Robert Oatley Vineyards, Craigmoor – Saturday October 30

A veritable galaxy of Australian stars have graced the stage since the very first a day on the green in Mudgee in November 2002, but for the milestone 10th birthday concert promoters Roundhouse Entertainment knew it had to be THE best. And that’s John Farnham.

The much-loved Aussie icon will headline the 10th birthday concert at Robert Oatley Vineyards, Craigmoor on Saturday October 30. Farnham has sold more tickets, more and notched up more achievements than any other Australian musician and will ensure this very special occasion will be long-remembered.

The birthday celebration concert will also feature the fabulous Ross ‘Mr Eagle Rock’ Wilson in his first visit to Robert Oatley Wines and by popular demand, one of the most popular artists to ever play Mudgee, .

The Mudgee concert will be Farnham’s very first a day on the green and is part of the John Farnham Live! tour through October/November. “I love doing outdoor shows and the vineyards around are such beautiful venues to perform at,” John said.

Promoter Michael Newton said: “Since the very first event, Mudgee has been one of our favourite destinations amongst all our wineries around Australia. We’ve seen some incredible shows over the years and we’ve had fantastic support from everyone in the region. That’s why we really wanted to do something special for this 10th birthday show. To secure John is a real coup and it’s going to be a fantastic birthday celebration. We can’t wait!”

For the stage legend, performing live is still an absolute joy. This next round of shows continues Farnham’s ever-evolving musical life, which these days remains in balance with his time away from centre stage.

The concerts will once again feature Farnham’s long-time and hugely acclaimed band, featuring Chong Lim (musical director), Angus Burchell (drums), Stuart Fraser (), (guitar), Steve Williams (saxophone, harp), Bob Coassin (trumpet), Craig Newman (bass), Lindsay Field (backing vocals), Lisa Edwards (backing vocals) and Dannielle Gaha (backing vocals).

Together they will work through Farnham’s phenomenal songbook, giving audiences the chance to once again see this consummate singer and entertainer in full flight. These select shows will also give Farnham fans an exclusive sneak preview of some brand new songs that he is currently recording for his new .

Whilst Farnham’s achievements are far too many to document, perhaps these two require acknowledgement. On record, ‘’ remains Australia’s highest selling album by a domestic artist ever and on stage, Farnham has performed a staggering total of 164 concerts at ’s Rod Laver Arena and the Entertainment Centre – a feat unlikely to ever be topped.

Joining John will be another Aussie rock legend RICHARD CLAPTON. Clapton has endeared himself to music-lovers everywhere through his heartfelt inspired performances and brilliant songs. He has mastered that most difficult of achievements - the highwire balance of radio-friendly tunes and candid, from-the-heart lyrics. With songs like ‘’, ‘Deep Water’ and ‘Capricorn Dancer’ and his landmark albums like ‘’, Clapton has stamped his place as one of Australia’s very best singer/songwriters.

The July 16 release of ’S 15th studio album “I Come In Peace” is a testament to his longevity and his ability to keep producing music that is as relevant in 2010 as it was 1964 when it all began. Recorded in Nashville & Melbourne, “I Come In Peace” is Wilson’s first new album in eight years and features 11 new songs that have his sublime song-writing touch all over them. Wilson’s live performances showcase songs from Daddy Cool to to his solo work, ensuring he is always a crowd pleaser.

GangGAJANG will kick off the 10th birthday show playing their infectious mix of rock & pop. Fronted by Mark ‘Cal’ Callaghan, songs like the classic ‘Sounds of Then (This is Australia)’, ‘House of Cards’ and ‘Giver of Life’ will be the perfect way to start the day. When not performing or recording as a band, the members of GangGAJANG are always busy, so enjoy the times when they come together to play again.

Since inception, a day on the green has been warmly embraced by the Mudgee audiences, who have had the chance to see a who’s who of music scene during the past nine years, plus one unforgettable event headlined by Canadian superstar Bryan Adams. a day on the green events have also created phenomenal tourism benefits to local businesses and the region in general.
