To make the transition from the old to the new Brookview, we will not be able to host the daily card groups and some of the classes from September 5 to December 1. In essence, Brookview Community Center will be closed during this period, with park and recreation department operations temporarily housed at Golden Valley City Hall. "Life Could Be A Dream" at Old Log Theater Wed, Oct 25 Upon arrival, have lunch in the Old Log Dining Room. Then enter the theater to see the performance “Life Could Be A Dream!” This affectionate doo-wop jukebox musical by writer- director Roger Bean (The Marvelous Wonderettes) is designed to incorporate hit songs of the 1960s, ranging from “Sh-Boom” and “Rama Lama Ding Dong” to anthems like “Earth Angel.” Unchained Melody,” “The Great Pretender,” and “The Glory of Love.” In small town Springfield, the local radio station is sponsoring a rock-and-roll contest, and go-getter Denny is convinced he can win and become a star. He enlists his klutzy, nerdish, endearing friend Eugene and church-choir singer Wally to join him. Needing a sponsor, they apply to the proprietor of the local auto chain. He sends his top mechanic, handsome, hunky Skip, and his pretty daughter Lois to audition the guys, and by the end they’re incorporated in the new group, Denny and the Dreamers. This is pure fun and every note counts in this rousing goodtime musical. Menu (state choice when registering): Beef Short Rib, Tilapia, Vegetarian Pasta, or Boneless Chicken Breast.
