Bronson Middle High School (6-12)- Launch Eagle Tik Tok Challenge- Students will be tasked with determining a favorite Monday book and evaluating the impact that book has had on their lives. They will then develop a creative 60 second video sharing that information with their school community. Bring a towel and sunglasses to read outside while soaking up the rays with a good book. Launch Celebrate Literacy at-home Bingo! ------Chiefland Middle High School (6-12)- Daily announcements: “Humanity” quotes and corresponding challenges. In ELA classes: Focus topic “Righteous Among the Nations” (those who selflessly helped ); Today: Build background: Definition of Humanity: study together; complete a Wordle or an acrostic; In contrast, the antithesis of ‘humanity’ is -Show Holocaust informational video, teach 5 vocab words: Holocaust, genocide, antisemitism, extermination, inferior; EQ: Can humanity be found amongst atrocities? How? Who?; Introduce the idea that many people made important sacrifices (even risked their own lives) to help those who were persecuted during the Holocaust. (Ex: The Frank Family helpers) In Science classes, study “The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind.” ------Joyce Bullock Elementary School (Pre-K-2)- I AM HUMAN! Daily- Stop drop and read time in classrooms; Book of the Day Contest on the morning announcements- a quote will be shared and teachers can email in the matching book title for a certificate. ------Williston Elementary School (3-5)- Digital Escape Room- Students work collaboratively in groups of 2 or 3 in order to escape or breakout. They are challenged to solve puzzles in order to find clues and codes. Tasks in this escape room will center around inferencing, cause and effect, and homophones. ------Williston Middle High School (6-12)- All Week- Teachers will display “Favorite Books” outside their classroom door; Book Hunt- Every day an email will go out containing a clue to a book in the Media Center, the first staff member to locate the book will receive a gift card prize!; Golden Books- Teachers will read clues to their classes daily and the first student in the class period to respond correctly gets a goodie bag to enjoy; Student Contests- Bookmark creation contest and “Where I’m From” poetry creation contest will be ongoing throughout the week with winners awarded at the end of the week; Get Caught Reading Tickets- Students who are caught reading throughout the week will receive a tag from their teacher to redeem with the reading coaches for a prize. ------Yankeetown School (Pre-K-8)- Read My Shirt (Wear a shirt with appropriate words on it.)
