WHAT IS THE ARTHUR KILL TERMINAL?
Arthur Kill Terminal (AKT) is located at a +30-acre site just south of the Outerbridge Crossing on Staten Island. AKT is the only offshore wind port site in New York with direct ocean access and no bridge clearance issues—representing New York’s sole option for competing with other potential wind turbine staging ports in Connecticut, Virginia and New Jersey.
AKT will be a state-of-the-art port facility designed for the staging and assembly of offshore wind turbines before they are transported for installation at offshore wind farms that will be constructed along the East Coast over the next few decades.
Atlantic Offshore Terminals is a team of experienced offshore wind project developers who managed the assembly and construction of the turbines for the Block Island Wind Farm, the first and only offshore wind farm in the U.S.
