We are extremely excited about the 2021-22 school year. I am very proud of what our students and staff accomplished during the 2020-21 school year despite all the challenges with COVID-19. Our community rallied together in support of our schools and ensured our kids had a positive school experience. We continue to face some distinct challenges regarding public health in 2021-22 and are committed to providing the best experience possible, as normal as possible, for our children. We are very fortunate to have a wonderful school community that is made up of talented students, families, teachers, staff, and community members. Aubrey ISD is committed to providing the very best educational experience and achievement every school year. Our vision is to be a “World Class” school district and to ensure every student is successful. The Aubrey I.S.D. Mission Statement says, “The mission of the Aubrey I.S.D. Chaparral family is to inspire, nurture, and empower all students to realize their potential and to succeed in an ever-changing world.” We are certainly living in ever-changing times. We are on a mission to help our students prepare to succeed now and in the future. We want our students to be fully prepared to take advantage of choices: the choice of going to college, attend a technical school, pursue their chosen career, join the military, or whatever they may dream of doing as they grow. Students need to be prepared to meet the challenges of the 21st century. Our district is committed to preparing our students for their future. To achieve our Vision and Mission, the school district works diligently to ensure our teachers and staff have what they need to deliver high-quality instruction in the classroom. Our teachers engage in on-going professional development to stay current on research-based instructional delivery. We work diligently to meet the varying needs of our students and families and are focused on working with families to help our children succeed in a safe and nurturing environment. Aubrey ISD is committed to providing successful and engaging co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Our staff works hard to ensure each and every program is given every advantage to succeed and help our students develop their individual gifts and talents. Our programs such as art, athletics, band, agriculture, cheer, Academic Decathlon, UIL Academics, theatre, etc. are vital to the overall experience of our students. As a school community, we believe these programs teach students many life lessons and provide great value to their growth and development. None of this is possible without strong relationships and partnerships with parents and the communities we serve. We are honored that you, our parents, have given our district the opportunity to work with and to educate your children.     A Message from the Aubrey I.S.D. Superintendent Dear Chaparral Parents & Students, I would like to welcome your children to Aubrey ISD for another school year. We are looking forward to another great year. I know how hard it is to leave the fun of summer behind; however, I also know this year will be educationally and socially rewarding for those students who choose to actively participate. Students are expected to attend school regularly, complete all assignments and behave appropriately. This year will be exciting and filled with many opportunities for growth and fun. We are thrilled to have you as our partner in academics during your child’s most impressionable years. The staff at Aubrey ISD is always available to assist you throughout the school year. As the year progresses, and as you become either more informed or more puzzled, I encourage you to call the school and talk with those who might be of help. If your question deals with classroom activities, homework, etc., please ask to speak to the appropriate teacher. If it deals with the overall program, curriculum or activities, please contact the counselor or principal. Please consider this handbook a valuable guide throughout the school year. The handbook explains in great detail the Aubrey Independent School District rules and procedures along with our expectations for each student.     Aubrey High School Academic Course Guide 2018-2019 2/1/18 Dear Parents and Students, As you begin the registration process for each school year, we would like for you to take some time to consider the following information. Please remember that the schedule selections you are about to make are extremely important decisions. Each course should be carefully considered and checked with graduation requirements. The course selections for next year, the number of classes available, and the number of teaching positions that will be allocated are all dependent upon the choices that the student body makes during the course selection process. Not all courses listed in this guide are offered each school year. Students who do ​ not complete and return a course selection form will have a schedule arranged for them by the counselor according to their academic need and course availability. Remember to make your course selections carefully. After the school year begins, when ​ ​ students request random schedule changes, classes become unbalanced and overcrowded. As a result, all students are affected. Even the most effective course planning is compromised. Very seldom does one course change affect only one course! In accordance with AISD policy, random schedule changes will not be approved. Schedule changes will only be granted under rare circumstances and with principal approval. It is our desire that all students have a satisfactory schedule. Careful planning and processing of the following course selections will help all students, teachers, administration and parents have a better school year.
