NRC: These days all Afghans are witness of huge number of returnees from Pakistan and Iran. Most of them are from Pakistan included both documented and undocumented. Non documented returnees has no VRF forms displaced forcefully while some of them has Registration Cards. NRC as a responsible organization in undertaking matters of returnees and IDPs and seriously feel the highly need they might have especially during upcoming winter. In addition the main issue we see is that returnee’s don’t have access or any information regarding how to register them DoRR. There are 2 options:

 Installation of bill boards on Kunduz entry gates and Main square and if possible in all districts centres in local languages Pashto ad Dari. Lack of enough potable water in place of displacement for IDPs families. . Lack of enough Shelter and accommodation space for IDPs in place of displacement. . Some of IDPs couldn’t afford the rent of house in place of displacement. . Lack of enough household commodities (NFIs) in place of origin. . Lack of enough food items in place of displacement. . Lack of work/job opportunity in place of displacement. . Loss of ID cards (Tazkira). . No access of children specially for girls to school, . No specific items and care for women specially pregnant women, . Overload of families at place of displacement,  UNMACA: UNMACA/UNMAS continue to coordinate and monitor all mine action program's activities related to mine and unexploded ordnance clearance operations, to raise awareness and to support the affected people by mine and other explosive remnants of war including implementation of ACAP-phase III.  During the month of Aug 2016 Halo Trust, FSD, MCPA, ATC, OMAR, DDG have had field operations activities through 60 Survey, Demining, Mine Risk Education and victim assistance assets across the 4 provinces of the northeast region.  Cumulative all above demining agencies were able to clear (981,892) square meter contaminated land, destroyed (1,498) Anti-Personnel Mine, and (661) other unexploded ordnance during the month of Aug 2016.  A total of 12,836 people (Girls, Boys, Men, and Women) received mine/ERW risk education during the month of Aug 2016 in all 4 provinces. Out of this figure 1,393 are retrained beneficiaries. A total of 21,441 items of various type of MRE materials distributed amongst the beneficiaries.  MCPA, a UNMACA/DMAC implementing partner, funded by UNOCHA is supporting IDPs and responding call out tasks for survey and removal of spot ERW under their area of responsibility.  MCPA one Survey/MRE team accompanied by ACAP III project survey team member deployed to Qala-I-Zal district and will conduct both MRE, Survey, removal of Spot ERW and assessment of recent conflict physical impact only in accessible areas in close consultation with locals. Coordination and liaison has already been conducted with provincial and district authorities in advance.

 Afghan Civilian Assistance Programme (ACAP - phase III):  Distributed 117 immediate assistance packages (Food and NFIs) to 161 war conflict, mine and ERW affected victims’ families under ACAP (phase III) funded by USAID in North- eastern region during the month of Aug 2016 reaching to 1,024 beneficiaries (Male, Female).  Psychosocial counselling services provided to 131 war victims and their families covering both male and female in Baghlan and Kunduz during the month of Aug 2016 while PSS counseling is ongoing for 38 others.  Economic Reintegration services completed to 189 beneficiaries both male and female (received vocational trainings) and 31 others are under process.  Physical Rehabilitation services completed to 7 affected people, 9 ongoing and 49 others are referred to other organizations.

 Challenges to Mine Action:  Funding Shortfall: . No sufficient Mine/ERW Risk Education teams in the region - while emergency MRE is required for conflict- induced IDPs in Baghlan, Takhar and Badakhshan provinces. . ERW remain the main factor of civilian casualties. 5 Planning for avoiding DACAAR: update activities in Kunduz Province under fund of the duplication of assistances UNOCHA/ CHF, Related WASH Project in Sep-2016:

. 30 New Tube Wells have been completed in 25 villages of Kunduz Center.

. 45 Reactivated Wells have been completed in 25 villages of Kunduz Centre.

. 650 Emergency attached baths and latrines have been constructed and 650 Hand Washing Facilities have been distributed in 25 villages of Kunduz center.

. 50 Formation of Hygiene and Sanitation Committee under PHAST (Participatory Hygiene and Sanitation Transformation) approach, 25 for male and 25 for female were completed in 25 villages of Kunduz center and follow up of visits is going on.

. 1950 Emergency Hygiene Kits have been distributed for 1950 IDPs families.

. 75 Person caretakers trained for maintenance of 75 New and Reactivated wells.

. CHAST (Children Hygiene and Sanitation Training) approach is going on in 6 schools around Kunduz center.

WASH: due to long time conflict in Kunduz province more IDPs are coming to the centre of this province, so these IDPs need for clean drinking water, there are many wells which are not safe (dug well) and some of bored wells are not active, therefore WASH relative organizations and donor agencies assist in this regards.

Emergency (ERM): DACAAR is a partner of ERM in WASH activities, so DACAAR has already participated in assessment teams for selected real IDPs, one vehicle and two staff are busy in current assessment in Kunduz centre.

Note: Due to extra budget DACAAR selected 20 new wells in 14 villages of Kunduz centre through joint survey of DoRR and PRRD and sent to main office for approval of donor.

 ACTED: reported about ongoing project activities in Kunduz Province:  15 water wells will construct in Ali Abad district

 19 water wells will construct in Kunduz center

 Digging of semi deeps wells have been started in Kunduz center.
