EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

National Services Scheme (NSS)

NSS programs conducted during the academic year are depicted as follows.

 Orientation for NSS Participation: The orientation of new NSS Cadets was held in the month of July by senior cadets at Sinhgad College of Science during induction programmer & enlisted newcomer into the national service scheme.  River costal clean up camp: The Costal Cleaning program was held near Mulla River bank in Collaboration with university of Pune. NSS students reached the venue and reported to the event co-ordinator. Cleaned the river bank section alloted to us. After the event team was appreciated for particpation in the event. College was awarded with a momento for participation from the Mayor of Pune Chanchala Kodre &Vice Chancellor of Pune university Prof. (Dr.) W. N. Gade.  Cloth donations drive for (NGO): On the occasion of Foundation Day of Sinhgad Technical Education Society & Independence Day, NSS of Sinhgad College of Science had organized a "Clothes donation camp" from 12-15 August. Around 1500 cloths were collected which were donated by cadets of to tribal’s of Nandurbar District in collaboration with a NGO ‘Sammrudham foundation’.  Teachers Day Celebration: NSS committee had organised teacher’s day celebration on 5th Sept 2014. Event started by welcoming the chief guest Mr. Bimal Sud and Dr. Ashok Chopra. During the event both chief guests Mr. Bimal Sud and Dr. Ashok Chopra delivered motivational lecture to teachers. The program ended with a short drama presented by members of Arts Circles.  NSS Alumni meet organized at Sinhgad College of Science: On the occasion of 'NSS day' national service scheme (NSS) group of Sinhgad College of Science had organized ''NSS student’s alumni meet 2014'' on 24 Sept 2014. Around 50 alumni students were present for the event along with Dr. Magan Ghatule principal, NSS officer Prof.Rahul Tamhane, Prof. Aarti Borkar. & Prof. Sadanand Karlekar. The students of NSS has initiated a new project called “Mission pollution free, Pune with aim to spread awareness about waste plastic disposal for which NSS students are using social networking sites, awareness videos, images etc.  National Service camp for 7 Days: NSS Committee of Sinhgad College of Science had organized a "NSS CAMP 2015" from 03/01/2015 to 09/01/2015 at Thoptewadi, Pune with “SWACH ABHIYAN” Scheme. Total 25 students were participated in the NSS Camp.

SPORTS

We Sinhgad College of Science give facilities for Outdoor and Indoor Sports to encourage student for maximum participation in sports. We have Indoor sports facility of table tennis, chess and carom facilities. Every year college students participates in different sports competitions like university, district, sports zone, intercollegiate, invitational competitions, interclass competitions and Sinhgad Sports Karandak. For the academic year 2014-15 total 99 students had represented to college in different competition. Total 8 students had been represented in Pune University interzonal competition like football, basketball, best physique, judo, fencing, lawn tennis, and table tennis.  Mr. Prasad Renuse S.Y. B.Com participated in All India University for the event Judo at Amritsar and Basketball.  Diksha Shilimkar S.Y.B.Sc (Com) participated in all India Basketball University competition at Jaipur. Sinhgad College of Science is continuatively 3 times Winner 2011-2013 and in 14-15 and runner up in Sports Zone Intercollegiate Table Tennis Competition.
