THE PERFECT MATCH DID YOU KNOW... AN ORCHID IS THE PERFECT PLANT FOR YOUR BATHROOM?

Placing an orchid in your bathroom is not a common occurrence but as the orchid is originally from the tropics of the rainforest, it actually prefers to live in a moist environment. As long as the orchid has access to some natural light, you will have a bloomin’ good orchid to brighten up your bathroom. Here’s some tips on how to do it best: TRY THAT RUSTIC EDGE

Planting your orchid in a metallic or concrete pot can create a stylish yet rustic look in your bathroom. The Zygopetalum lends itself to this style perfectly due to its stunning shades of and brown. After all, brown is the new black!

However, if you would prefer to try something a little more extravagant why not attach the famous Phalaenopsis to a contemporary iron framework, which works as a beautiful wall piece. Iron memo boards are currently very popular, but if you’re opting for that rustic style, you can opt for a piece of reinforced concrete instead.

A Vanda is also a suitable orchid to create a display of hanging orchids as the plant has aerial roots. With an iron wire as suspension system, you can create a stylish yet rustic orchid arrangement. A HINT OF ROMANCE

Adding a hint of romance to your bathroom is extremely easy once you know which orchids to choose.

Place a shiny and metallic copper pot beside the bath and include an elegant, deep Cymbidium – this combination oozes romance. If your bathroom is dark, combine a pastel coloured pot with a Phalaenopsis in rich purple, the most romantic colour of the year.

You can also place an orchid into a vintage bowl for a romantic look. The Dendrobium Nobilé is perfect for this as it has a bright pink colour - its solid roots also allow it to stand upright easily meaning a pot is not always necessary. CREATE A TRANQUIL OASIS

The bathroom is renowned as a place of relaxation and the less objects in it the better. Keep it simple with a touch of colour to create small bursts of energy.

Placing a Miltonia on the side of the sink is a simple way of creating a tranquil oasis as it requires minimal styling. It adds a touch of colour to a neutral colour scheme!

If you want to keep things minimalistic, place subtle pink Dendrobium Nobilés in clean white pots across different levels to create character. You can also try mixing a couple of colours to make your bathroom pop. DIY VIDEO: CREATE YOUR OWN ORCHID KOKEDAMA
