Note on Tram : o Regular Routes: At present 25 Tram Routes are catered by CTC regularly. The passengers avail Tram services from 4:30 AM to 10:45 PM. o Chareibeti & Rupashi Bangla – Two AC Tram Cars are on road now. At present fixed joy rides are offered on Saturdays, Sundays & other Holidays. Pre booking of Ticket is also available. That apart, full tram reservation is available for booking for different occasions on any day. Office of Chief Operating Manager may be approached for this purpose (8697733318/ [email protected]). Booking procedure is hassles free, all communications may also be made through email and electronic fund transfer option is also available. o Heritage Trams: Two heritage trams ( Banalata & Balaka ) are placed for passenger service on afternoon of Saturdays and Sundays between Shyambazar and Esplanade with special fare of Rs.10/- for single onward journey. o Tram on Hire: Tram car may be booked either for Joy Ride, Marriage Party, Birth Day Party etc. Concession is accorded to the Educational Institution, Charitable Institution. Any combination of operational routes may be preferred. All day tickets are sold from Esplanade Control Office. o Monthly Ticket: For regular passengers there is scope of availing Monthly Tickets which is economical for the passenger. Monthly Tickets are sold from the Cash Counter of Head Office (12, .. Mukherjee Rd) at the ground floor on 10th 11th and 12th day of each month (if any date is a holiday, then the next working day). Fare is Rs. 20/- for 1st stage and Rs. 25/-for 2nd stage per month. Tickets are sold from the Cash Counter of Head Office (12, R.N. Mukherjee Rd.) at the ground floor on 13th 14th and 15th day of each month (if any date is a holiday, then the next working day). o Sr. Citizens’ Special: Monthly Tickets for Senior Citizens (age ≥ 60) are sold on special rate (50% of monthly ticket). Tickets are sold from the Cash Counter of Head Office (12, R.N. Mukherjee Rd.) at the ground floor on 10th 11th and 12th day of each month (if any date is a holiday, then the next working day).

o Ladies’ Special Tram: Ladies’ Special Tram Services are in operation in route Shyambazar to Kidderpore via BBD Bag/ Esplanade. This service is available only in peak office hours.

o Tram Museum -Smaranika: The Calcutta Tramways Company has come up with a singular concept — a mobile museum tram, christened Smaranika (memorablia). The Smaranika houses photographs of different kinds of trams down the ages, different tram tickets, badges, caps and others apparels worn by the conductors, along with different kinds of equipment that have been used from the bygone times even before in depence.A section of this intriguing museum on wheels contains a glimpses of the tram in Bengal’ literary and cultural scene. The references include the writings of Rabindranath Tagore, Sunil Gangopadhyay, Sharadindu Bandopadhyay, Bibhutibhusan Bandyopadhayay etc.Visitors can also sit and sip tea at a counter inside the tram and have a look at street scenes depicting trams in which mostly stands at the Esplanade depot of the CTC in central Kolkata. This is becoming increasingly popular amongst the popular of the city as well as outsiders.

o Passenger Grievance: Any aggrieved passenger may inform either over phone or in writing on any problem relating to service. In all depots as well as in head office there are Complaint/ Suggestion box for passengers. Complaint may also be made over phone. • Reservation charge may be deposited compulsorily at least 03 (three) working days before the date of journey except for Government Offices. • A special discount of 5% on prescribed rate may be allowed for booking before 30 days from the date of journey. • Service Tax & other Taxes may be added in all applicable cases. • A deposit of ` 3,000/- for each bus may be kept as security deposit, except for Government Offices • Toll Tax and any type of tax that might be imposed by the local authority would be borne by the client

Easy Hiring Procedure: A bank Account details (Name of the Bank: IDBI Bank, Branch : Barbourn Road Branch, A/ Type – Current Account, Account No. : 0601025000005043, MICR Code : 700259003, IFSC Code : IBKL000060) would be given to intending persons so that they can avail the facility of account transfer. It may be useful to those who do not want to come in CTC office for the processes. If approved, they may apply to MD / COM through email ([email protected]) and COM may respond by return mail. Thereafter the intending person may either send the cash / bank draft or remit the reservation charge through A/C transfer. After confirmation of remittance by CAO / AO, letter confirming allotment of bus / Tram / Premises would be issued and sent to the client through email, if he desires. This arrangement would be in addition to existing system. This would not be applicable for those who intend to have concession on reservation charges. • In case of natural calamity or any compelling situation of CTC for which the fixed programme could not be accomplished, a change of date would be allowed without any extra cost, or the refund may be allowed, if client so desires. • The CTC may cancel any reservation in emergency, but 100% refund may be made. The procedures that are not mentioned here but in practice on the strength of previous orders would remain the same, if not found contradictory with this. This order will take immediate effect, but if the cash / draft is already deposited till date, for any programme, that need not be affected / changed.
