J’estime qu’il reflète les progrès significatifs que nous avons accomplis dans la modernisation de notre organisation afin de veiller à ce qu’elle soit une Fédération Internationale remarquable par ses résultats et son intégrité. J’ai été élu Président en 2013 avec pour mandat de restaurer la confiance dans notre sport et l’UCI ainsi que leur crédibilité. En 2015, nous nous sommes appuyés sur les avancées réalisées l’année précédente afin de poursuivre cet objectif précis. L’UCI contribue à montrer la voie dans l’établissement des meilleures pratiques en termes d’intégrité et de transparence sportives.

    Consejero de Cultura y Turismo de la Junta de Castilla y León La crisis sanitaria provocada por la Covid-19 ha condicionado nuestras vidas y nuestra actividad diaria. El deporte no ha sido ajeno a esta situación pero, poco a poco, hemos sabido adaptarnos, hemos podido practicarlo y hemos logrado realizar eventos deportivos, con más o menos restricciones, pero intentando siempre no paralizar nuestro deporte. A partir de marzo de 2020, la pandemia provocó la suspensión de muchos eventos cuya preparación estaba en marcha. Uno de ellos fue la Vuelta Ciclista a Castilla y León para ciclistas internacionales. La previsión era dar la salida en el mes de abril, pero, ante la evolución de la situación sanitaria, se decidió no celebrar la prueba a lo largo de 2020. Sin embargo, desde hace meses, se ha venido trabajando en retomar su celebración en 2021, tomando la decisión de realizar una prueba de una etapa, que recorrerá la provincia de León el 29 de julio, con salida en León capital Javier Ortega Álvarez y llegada en Ponferrada. Su recorrido por tierras del Camino de Santiago en este Año Jacobeo, lleno de belleza paisajística y monumental, no dejará indiferentes a los aficionados y, sin duda, animará a visitar esta tierra y a probar la rica y variada gastronomía leonesa y berciana. Este año, la edición será ya la número XXXV y una vez más, contaremos con una prueba de gran nivel deportivo, con varios equipos World Tour y numerosos equipos internacionales, así como con la perfecta organización a la que nos tiene acostumbrados el Club Ciclista Cadalsa.

CALENDARIO Y PARTICIPACIÓN Calendario internacional 2.1.001 Las pruebas en carretera serán inscritas en el calendario internacional según la clasificación establecida en el artículo 2.1.005. Las pruebas UCI WorldTour serán inscritas en el calendario mundial por el consejo de ciclismo profesional. El comité directivo inscribirá las demás pruebas del calendario internacional en una u otra clase siguiendo los criterios establecidos. Por regla general, el calendario internacional comenzará el día siguiente de la última prueba del UCI WorldTour o a la conclusión de los campeonatos del mundo UCI del año anterior, finalizando a la conclusión del UCI WorldTour o campeonatos del mundo del año en cuestión. Las fechas del calendario internacional se establecerán anualmente por el comité directivo de la UCI, teniendo en cuenta los principios anteriores y las particularidades de los eventos registrados.
