I want to specifically thank Rick Wixom, Commissioners Victor Iverson and Dean Cox, Representative Last and Senator Vickers for their support and help in making this happen. The bill allows up to four percent (4%) of the County TRT to be used on emergency medical (EMS) services. This percentage equates to about $350,000 this year, shifting that amount of the Fire District’s cost of service away from local property tax. Since most EMS calls in Springdale are serving tourists, it makes sense they should help pay for this service directly through their hotel stays. — STAN Springdale Town Community Calendar
