Esra Çuhadar Bilkent University Monica Rafael Simoes Norwegian Peacebuilding Resource Center (NOREF) The Arab uprisings and the transition processes following the regime changes in these countries have occupied the foreign policy agendas of Turkey and Norway during the last two years, even though these events affected the two nations in varying degrees and ways. Turkey, as a direct or regional neighbour of these Arab countries, has been experiencing this process more directly and has been greatly affected economically, socially, and politically, especially from the influx of almost 200.000 refugees. Norway, on the other hand, which has been experiencing this process rather indirectly and from a greater distance, has still been impacted in a variety of ways. Regardless of the magnitude of the tremors felt by Turkey and Norway, both countries desire to act upon the developments in a constructive manner and be constructive forces to help this transition. A Turkey-Norway collaboration may sound like an unusual partnership, but a common agenda for peacebuilding and conflict resolution led two organizations, the Norwegian Peacebuilding Resource Center (NOREF) and the İhsan Doğramacı Peace Foundation’s Center for Foreign Policy and Peace Research at Bilkent University in Ankara, to explore the potential of this partnership in relation to the Arab uprisings. The two groups collaborated in a workshop held with Turkish and Norwegian academics under the co-sponsorship of the Strategic Research Center (SAM) of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 1 and 2 November 2012 in Ankara.

Barkey Its Neighbors” project, a group of leading specialists on the geopolitics of the region and on the domestic politics of the individual countries is assessing the interests and influence of the countries surrounding Iraq. In addition, these specialists are examining how Turkey and Iraq the situation in Iraq is impacting U.S. bilateral relations with these countries. Henri Barkey’s report on Turkey is the first in a series of USIP special reports on “Iraq The Perils (and Prospects) of Proximity and Its Neighbors” to be published over the next few months.     Trade agreement between the European Union and Colombia and Peru European Implementation Assessment STUDY EPRS | European Parliamentary Research Service Editor: Anna Zygierewicz Ex-Post Evaluation Unit PE 621.834 – July 2018 EN Trade agreement between the European Union and Colombia and Peru European Implementation Assessment On 29 November 2017, the Committee on International Trade (INTA) of the European Parliament requested authorisation to undertake an own-initiative report on the implementation of the trade agreement (TA) between the EU and Colombia and Peru (2018/2010 (INI). Santiago Fisas Ayxelà (EPP, Spain) was appointed rapporteur. This European implementation assessment has been provided to accompany the work of the INTA committee in scrutinising the implementation of the agreement. This European implementation assessment (EIA) consists of two parts. The in-house opening analysis (Part I) outlines the process leading to the signature of the trade agreement between the EU and Colombia and Peru. It also presents the socio-economic situation in Colombia and Peru and relations between the EU and Colombia and Peru, as well as relations between the EU and the Andean Community. The research paper prepared by external experts (Part II) presents a detailed analysis of trade in goods and services and foreign direct investments. The paper also evaluates, in detail, the implementation of the trade and sustainable development chapter of the trade agreement in both Colombia and Peru. Finally, the paper provides recommendations for the improvement of the implementation of the trade agreement. He was among the first to use reaction times for analyzing hemispheric specializations and interactions in intact and split brain humans. His latest research interests include visual spatial attention and the representation of the body in the brain. My deepest roots lie in the ancient Lombard city of Pavia, where I was born 78 years ago, on May 25, 1935, and in that part of the province of Pavia that lies to the south of the Po River and is called the Oltrepò Pavese. The hilly part of the Oltrepò is covered with beautiful vineyards that according to archaeological and historical evidence have been used to produce good wines for millennia.

After many months of negotiations and planning, the ISN began a partnership with professional society managers, Panacea Associates (PA) of Tallahassee, Florida. PA is a small enterprise operated by Susan Lampman and Patricia Meredith, both of whom have had extensive experience in conference services, management of professional organizations, etc. PA has been managing the Association for Chemoreception Sciences (AChemS) for many years, and in that capacity they have earned a fine reputation for efficient and attentive service tailored to the needs of the organization. For a trial period of two years, most of the routine management operations of the ISN will be handled by PA. These services will be phased in over the next few months.
