Hinesville man wins gold at international Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu championships in Vegas

Anthony Harris of Hinesville, right, won a gold medal in the 2017 Interna- tional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Master Championship on Aug. 26 in Las Vegas. Harris, a retired soldier, is a sixth-degree purple belt and competes in the open classification, according to IBJJF. com. Harris works for Georgia Ports Authority and is a member at Destiny Christian Center. He’s lived in coastal Georgia for more than 27 years. Harris also won a gold medal in the 2015 international championships in his martial art. “There is no stopping this 58-year-old young man,” said the person who submitted the photo. “No matter what your age it is never too late to achieve your goals and dreams.
