Vacancy for Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer for Llanfair Clydogau Council.

Llanfair Clydogau Community Council serves the villages and outlying areas of Llanfair and Cellan. The Community Council is a voluntary organisation set up by the Local Authority and run by local residents to act on behalf of their area. The Council brings people together to help make things happen, as well as protecting and promoting the identity of the community. The Community Council is now recruiting for a new Clerk. Administrative duties will include: • The preparing of agendas and the writing and distributing of minutes. • Arranging meetings and annual events such as Remembrance Sunday services. • Liaising with the County Council. • Updating the Community Council website. • Accurate account keeping, reporting and preparation for audits. • Operating the Council's PAYE system. • Liaising with public bodies and relaying information back to the Council.

Prospective candidates should be able to display the following skills, have relevant experience in or a willingness to learn: • Competent IT skills and a knowledge of PAYE software and GDPR regulations. • A high standard of written communication. • Basic accounting and auditing experience. • Self motivation and the ability to meet deadlines. • Diplomacy and maintaining confidentiality. • The ability to speak Welsh would be advantageous as would some local knowledge.

Working hours are as appropriate through the month. There are currently 8 meetings per annum, usually on a Thursday evening. Salary is £1000p/a payable either monthly, quarterly, bi-annually or annually, as suits the successful applicant. Initial training will be provided by the current Clerk and there will be opportunities to attend courses in the future.
