Tačiau pianizmo raida Kinijoje nebuvo vienodai sklandi visuose socialiniuose sluoksniuose ir regionuose, todėl turime nustatyti bei įvardyti esamus trūkumus. Šis tyrimas analizuos garsių Kinijos pianistų karjerą siekiant suprasti dabartinę fortepijono meno situaciją ir būsimas Kinijos pianizmo plėtros tendencijas. Tyrimo problema: Fortepijono mokymas yra pati svarbiausia muzikos švietimo rinkos dalis Kinijoje, tačiau šioje srityje yra trūkumų. Tiriant garsių Kinijos pianistų karjeros ypatybes, šis darbas išsiaiškina ir apibūdina Kinijos fortepijono meno socialinės raidos problemas ir fortepijono kultūros ateities perspektyvos tendencijas. Tyrimo klausimai: Kokios yra kinų pianistų karjeros raidos ypatybės? Kokios yra garsių Kinijos pianistų karjeros patirties pamokos? Kuo garsių Kinijos pianistų karjeros patirtis reikšminga plėtojant šiuolaikinę kinų pianistų kultūrą? Kokios yra kinų fortepijono kultūros plėtros problemos ir galimybės? Tyrimo objektas: Kinijos fortepijono kultūros raidos būklės ir tendencijų analizė iš Kinijos pianistų karjeros plėtros patirties perspektyvos. Tyrimo tikslas: analizuojant Kinijos pianistų karjeros patirties ypatybes ištirti fortepijono kultūros raidos tendencijas ateities Kinijoje. Tyrimo uždaviniai: Apibūdinti sėkmingos kinų pianistų karjeros ypatybes; Išsiaiškinti dabartines kinų fortepijono kultūros problemas; Ištirti pianizmo kultūrą ir jos ateities plėtros tendencijas Kinijoje. Tyrimo metodai: Literatūros tyrimo metodas; Anketinės apklausos metodas. Tyrimo išvados: Kinijos fortepijono mokyme yra kokybinis atotrūkis dėl nepakankamo aukštos kokybės kompetentingų pedagogų skaičiaus ir nusistovėjusios švietimo sistemos trūkumo. Visų Kinijos visuomenės sluoksnių supratimas apie pianizmą ir jo vertinimas pagerės ateityje. Raktažodžiai: ateitis, charakteristikos, karjera, Kinija, pianistai, plėtra SUMMARY Relevance of the research:In recent decades, the expansion of piano performance has received increasing attention. However, the development of piano art in China has not been equally smooth in all social strata and regions, and we need to define the existing shortcomings. This study will analyse the careers of prominent Chinese pianists to understand the current situation of piano art and future development trends in China. The problem of the research: Piano teaching is the most substantial part of the music education market in China, but there are drawbacks in this area. Investigating the career characteristics of famous Chinese pianists, this work clarifies the problems of Chinese piano art social development and the future progress trends of piano culture. The research questions: What are the characteristics of the Chinese pianists’ career development? What are the lessons of the career experience of famous Chinese pianists? How significant is the career experience of Chinese pianists in the development of contemporary Chinese pianist culture? What are the problems and opportunities for the development of Chinese piano culture? The object of the research: analyses the state and trends of the piano culture development in China from the perspective of Chinese pianists' career development experience.. The aim of the research: throughout the analysis of Chinese pianists' career experience characteristics to research the development trend of piano culture in future China. The objectives of the research: To describe the characteristics of Chinese pianists’ successful career experience; To find the current problems in Chinese piano culture; To explore the piano culture and its future development trend in China. The methods of the research: Literature research method; Questionnaire survey method. Findings of the research: There is a qualitative gap in Chinese piano education because of an insufficient number of high-quality, competent teachers and established educational system. Questionnaire example (in Chinese)................................................................................41 INTRODUCTION Relevance of the research: The piano originated in Europe in the 18th century and was invented by the Italian Bartolomeo Christofori. The clavichord is the forerunner of the modern piano. It first came to China during the Wanli period of the Ming dynasty (Tao, 2001). During the reign of emperor Kangxi of the Qing dynasty in the 17th century, Portuguese missionaries brought Harpsichord to China. Piano is a polyphonic instrument, while Chinese people's traditional aesthetic habit is single-tone linear thinking. Although western piano music has a strong cultural advantage, it is difficult for Chinese people to adapt to piano music culturally in a short time due to the inertia and constraints of traditional aesthetics. The opium war in 1840 tore open the solid door of China, forcing a large number of foreign missionaries into China, modern piano and modern piano music began to infiltrate into the life of the Chinese people. The piano really gained a certain social status in China, which was originated from the development of the "school music" movement at the beginning of last century, which was also a trend never seen in China's music road. From 1937 to 1949, the war of resistance against Japanese aggression and the civil war of liberation followed, which made the piano education in China have to slow down the pace of progress. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the state attached great importance to music education, which also made piano music creation rooted in the land. Under the guidance of chairman MAO's musical policy of "the past serves the present, the foreign serves the Chinese", western instruments to express the style and characteristics of the Chinese nation became the direction for composers and pianists to explore. In recent years, due to the sustained and steady growth of China's economy, the continuous expansion of the education market and the attention of government departments, art education has gradually been paid attention to (Li, 2019). As the king of Musical Instruments, piano has its unique charm and is deeply loved by the Chinese people. Piano education as the largest category in the music education market, occupies the largest share of the market. According to the China musicians association, at present, the proportion of piano learning in kindergartens is more than 60 per cent, and that in primary schools is 30 per cent. More than 30 million children are now learning the piano in China, and the number is growing by 10 per cent a year (Chen, 2019). The number of people learning piano is increasing, and a number of excellent pianists have emerged in Chinese society, such as Shikun Liu , Xiangdong Kong, Sa Chen, Lang Lang, Yundi Li, Yujia Wang, and Wenyu Shen. Although the development of piano art in Chinese society is very rapid, there are still some 5 problems. Piano culture was introduced into China relatively late, piano education resources are

    Interdisciplinary Studies in Musicology g, 2011 © Department of Musicology, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, Poland JACEK SZERSZENOWICZ (Łódź) Chopin: Visual Contexts ABSTRACT: The drawings, portraits and effigies of Chopin that were produced during his lifetime later became the basis for artists’ fantasies on the subject of his work. Just after the composer’s death, Teofil Kwiatkowski began to paint Bal w Hotel Lambert w Paryżu [Ball at the Hotel Lambert in Paris], symbolising the unfulfilled hopes of the Polish Great Emi­ gration that Chopin would join the mission to raise the spirit of the nation. Henryk Siemiradzki recalled the young musician’s visit to the Radziwiłł Palace in Poznań. The composer’s likeness appeared in symbolic representations of a psychological, ethnological and historical character. Traditional roots are referred to in the paintings of Feliks Wygrzywalski, Mazurek - grający Chopin [Mazurka - Chopin at the piano], with a couple of dancers in folk costume, and Stanisław Zawadzki, depicting the com­ poser with a roll of paper in his hand against the background of a forest, into the wall of which silhouettes of country children are merged, personifying folk music. Pictorial tales about music were also popularised by postcards. On one anonymous postcard, a ghost hovers over the playing musician, and the title Marsz żałobny Szopena [Chopin’s funeral march] suggests the connection with real apparitions that the composer occasional had when performing that work. In the visualisation of music, artists were often assisted by poets, who suggested associations and symbols. Correlations of content and style can be discerned, for ex­ ample, between Władysław Podkowinski’s painting Marsz żałobny Szopena and Kor­ nel Ujejski’s earlier poem Marsz pogrzebowy [Funeral march].

    Ambiguity in the Themes of Chopin's First, Second, and Fourth Ballades William Rothstein There is a style of music which may be called natural, because it is not the offspring of science or reflection, but of an inspiration which sets at defiance all the strictness of rules and convention. I mean popular music, and especially that of the peasantry. How many exquisite compositions are born, live and die, among the peasantry, without ever having been dignified by a correct notation, without ever having deigned to be confined within the absolute limits of a distinct and definite theme. The unknown artist who improvises his rustic ballad while watching his flocks, or guiding his ploughshare, and there are such even in countries which would seem the least poetical, will experience great difficulty in retaining and fixing his fugitive fancies. He communicates his ballad to other musicians, children like himself of nature, and these circulate it from hamlet to hamlet, from cot to cot, each modifying it according to the bent of his own individual genius. It is hence that these pastoral songs and romances, so artlessly striking or so deeply touching, are for the most part lost, and rarely exist above a single century in the memory of their rustic composers. Musicians completely formed under the rules of art rarely trouble themselves to collect them. Many even disdain them from very lack of an intelligence sufficiently pure, and a taste sufficiently elevated to admit of their appreciating them. Others are dismayed by the difficulties which they encounter the moment they endeavor to discover that true and original version, which, perhaps, no longer retains its existence even in the mind of its author, and which certainly was never at any time recognised as a definite and invariable type by any one of his numerous interpreters...

Jim Samson EXPLORING CHOPIN’S ‘POLISH BALLADE’ Abstract: Each stage of the source chain of Chopin’s Op. 38 is described. Theories of genre are discussed. Late nineteenth-century descriptions are related to intertextual associations to produce a hermeneutical reading of the work. Key words: Source chain; genre; topos; narrative; intertext; extramusical Preamble It was in Majorca - on 14 December 1839 - that Chopin wrote to Julian Fontana, 'I expect to send you my Preludes and Ballade shortly', referring here to the Second Ballade.1 He had already composed the main outlines of the ballade prior to Majorca (Félicien Mallefille referred to it, interestingly enough, as the 'Polish ballade' in a letter that pre-dated the excursion), but he refined it and completed it during the Majorcan adventure. Indeed it is entirely possible that it was on Majorca that he wrote what Schumann called the 'impassioned episodes', referring of course to the figurations, since he had already performed the opening section by itself on several occasions. My intention here is to comment briefly on salient aspects of the text of the ballade with reference to its extant sources. Following that, I will say something of an interpretative nature about the work, focusing on questions of intertextuality. It was first founded in 1879 under the name of ‘Shanghai Public Band’ and was later, in 1907, developed into an orchestra with 33 members under the baton of German conductor Rudolf Buck. Since Mario Paci—an Italian pianist—became its conductor in 1919, the Orchestra developed swiftly and was crowned ‘the best in the Far East’ 远东第一 by a Japanese musician Tanabe Hisao 田边尚雄 in 1923. At that time, Shanghai was semi-colonized by the International Settlement and the French Concession controlled by the Shanghai Municipal Council and the French Council respectively. They were both exempt from local Chinese authority. The Orchestra was an affiliated organization of the former: the Shanghai Municipal Council. When the Chinese Communist Party took over mainland China in 1949, the Orchestra underwent dramatic transformations. It was applied as a political propaganda tool performing music by composers from the socialist camp and adapting folk Chinese songs to Western classical instruments in order to serve the masses.

In his writings, Gould cites one finished “performance” created by splicing together two contrasting interpretations of a piece; through editing, the finished version somehow becomes more than the sum of its parts. Here Gould’s use of editing appears to invoke montage technique in a manner similar to one of its uses in film: contrasting images (interpretations) are juxtaposed, bequeathing responsibility to the viewer (listener) to infer meaning not explicitly present in either. To paraphrase Walter Benjamin, the use of montage technique separates filmmaking from live theater, altering the ontological status of the former and elevating it to an independent art form. Do the ways in which Gould employs technology support the claim that there is a similar relationship between live and studio music? For all the extant literature on Gould, there is little that discusses—in detail—his actual studio process. Scholars have tended to take Gould at his word. However, I believe that only by placing the focus squarely on the historical truth may we evaluate his recording/filmmaking analogy. This paper centers on a detailed audio analysis of one Gould performance: his 1981 recording of a Brahms Ballade.

Nasi pierwszoklasiści już są pełnoprawnymi uczniami. 21 października br. odbyło się uroczyste pasowanie na DZIEŃ EDUKACJI NARODOWEJ ucznia. To był wyjątkowy dzień.Pani dyrektor Joanna W NASZEJ SZKOLE Wyszkowska pasowała dzieci na uczniów w obecności znamienitych gości. Pasowanie E.K. UWAGA, UWAGA! W trosce o nasze bezpieczeństwo w naszej szkole odbył się próbny alarm przeciwpożarowy. Po usłyszeniu hasła- "Alarm" (nie było dzwonku, bo nie było prądu :-) wybiegliśmy na boisku, a po chwili zobaczyliśmy straż pożarną w akcji. Jestem bezpieczny. E.W. E.K. Dziękujemy! MŁODSZY RATOWNIK Dzień Edukacji Narodowej tych, co szkoły prowadzą i gminy Zbrosławice- p. TO JA – potocznie zwany Dniem nadzorują. Olszewski. Z tej okazji nasi Nauczyciela - upamiętnia W tym roku 13 koledzy i koleżanki z kl. IV rocznicę powstania Komisji października w murach pod kierownictwem p.
