Classic Formula 1 track next up for the Backman’s The second event in the racing series TCR Europe 2019 will take place this weekend at the classic Formula 1 track Hockenheimring in Germany. It’ll gather Europe’s absolute racing elite, including Swedish siblings Andreas and Jessica Backman. Heading into the weekend, they are currently in 11th and 13th place in the championship standings. TCR Europe 2019 takes place this weekend (May 24th–26th) in Hockenheim, Germany, at the Formula 1 track Hockenheimring. 32 racing drivers from all over Europe will compete in the second event of the championship, ready to enter the 4.574 km circuit, including several challenging stages. The siblings Andreas and Jessica Backman are ready to hit the road, entering this classical racing circuit for the first time. – In my opinion, the Hockenheimring track layout looks interesting, where the great variety of corners and straights can offer really exciting races, Andreas says. High speed and a desire for revenge The first event of the championship was held at Hungaroring, Hungary, about a month ago and the siblings have had a lot of time to practice and improve. In addition, Jessica took part and had a tough but instructive racing weekend in the TCR Germany. For the upcoming weekend's competition, Andreas is at 11th place and Jessica at 13th place in the championship. – I am extra keen for revenge after my participation at the Autodrom Most (TCR Germany) and I’m now preparing for a weekend with good speed and many championship points, Jessica says. – I will bring my good qualifying result from Hungaroring and the speed I achieved in the races. I am very much looking forward to drive my Hyundai i30 N TCR car again and also to visit such an historical track as Hockenheimring, Andreas says. Press Release May 8, 2018 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, Preview, Round 1, Formula 1 race in Barcelona/Spain Capacity grid at season-opener in Barcelona Stuttgart. The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup heads into its 26th season as a support race to Formula 1 on the outskirts of Barcelona this coming weekend (11-13 May). For the 2018 season, fans can look forward to ten rounds run over nine race weekends. Twenty-eight drivers have signed on for the whole season, with additional guest drivers joining the grid at selected rounds. The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup has featured on the same bill as the Formula 1 World Championship every year since it was launched in 1993. Two rounds, Monte Carlo/Monaco and Budapest/Hungary, have been permanent fixtures on the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup calendar since the series began. The one- make cup also returns to Hockenheim/Germany after a year’s break. Other venues on the calendar this season are the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg/Austria, as well as the storied racetracks of Silverstone/Great Britain, Spa-Francorchamps/Belgium and Monza/Italy. A doubleheader in Mexico City provides a fitting finale to the season. “We’re thrilled to return to Hockenheim after a year’s break and to welcome international drivers to our home track. This triumph marks the Englishman’s second win of the season. “I got away well at the start and that laid the foundation for my win. To drive unchallenged at the front of the field might look easy, but you have to be totally concentrated over the entire distance. And I succeeded in that,” said Yelloly (Fach Auto Tech). At the wheel of his Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, Mattia Drudi (Dinamic Motorsport) from Italy took the flag in second place, with Michael Ammermüller (BWT Lechner Racing) from Germany crossing the finish line in third. Under cloudy skies and in 24-degree Celsius temperatures, Yelloly pulled clear of the field immediately after the start. After 14 laps, the driver from Sollihull in the UK swept over the finish line in first, 3.6-seconds ahead of Drudi. Behind Yelloly, gripping battles for positions developed on the storied German racetrack. Taking up the race from the third grid spot, Drudi immediately put Mikkel Pedersen (MRS GT-Racing) in front of him under pressure. In lap three, the 20-year-old overtook the Dane, which the Italian from Misano Adriatico defended until the flag. “In the final laps my tyres deteriorated more and more, so I didn’t want to take too much of a risk. This is my second podium finish after Silverstone and that’s of course fantastic,” said Drudi.

Hungarian Grand Prix Preview: Hungaroring, 26-28 July 2013 PIRELLI BRINGS LATEST SPECIFICATION TYRES TO THE HUNGARORING Milan, July 22, 2013 – From the Nurburgring in Germany, the teams head to a completely contrasting venue for the Hungarian Grand Prix: the final race before the summer break. Pirelli brings the P Zero White medium and P Zero Yellow soft compounds to the Hungaroring, close to Budapest. This is actually the same nomination as last year, but with the compounds being softer this year, there is even more performance. The construction of the tyres has changed as well, with the 2012 structure matched with the 2013 compounds. These tyres were successfully tested at Silverstone last week, with the teams collecting plenty of data that will be useful for the future. Conditions at the Hungaroring are normally hot and sunny, which increases the work for the tyres. However, average speeds are low at the tight and twisty Hungaroring, which affects the usual pattern of wear and degradation. Rain is not unknown however, so as usual Pirelli will bring the Cinturato Green intermediates and Cinturato Blue full wets as well. Paul Hembery: “Hungary marks the first event for our latest specification P Zero tyres, which consist of the 2012 construction matched to the 2013 compounds. These tyres were tried out by the teams at Silverstone during the young driver test, who benefitted from the opportunity to adapt the set-up of their cars to best suit the new tyres. Now they get to use them in competition for the first time, and with qualifying particularly important at the Hungaroring, the work done in free practice will be very important.
