Date 10 July, 2012 NOTICE Tenders are invited from website development companies with proven experience of designing and managing large and complex data structures, for the development of a website to host the output of the “Bichitra” Tagore electronic hypertext project undertaken by the School of Cultural Texts and Records, Jadavpur University with funding from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The output will be a database-driven large text and image resource (1.5 to 2 million files, website space 10 GB) comprising the complete works of Rabindranath Tagore in English and Bengali, with all manuscript and textual variants. The website should have an optimized search engine, means of displaying image and text files side by side, and support both Indic (Bengali and Devanagari) and Roman character display. All codes, programmes and layouts specially created for the website will be the property of Jadavpur University.

A detailed note on the nature of the project and specific design requirements can be obtained from the Bichitra project office (Energy Studies Building, 1st Floor, near Gate no. 2, JU campus), against application on firm's letterhead with submission of credentials. Further technical enquiries from intending bidders can be made at the project office on Monday, 16.7.2012 from 3 to 5 pm.

Quotations containing two-part bid in separate sealed covers as detailed below are to be submitted to the Bichitra project office by 2 pm on 27 July 2012:

1. Technical bid with all specifications and design plan, accompanied with demo CD. 2. Financial bid. Technical bids will be opened at the Bichitra project office at 3 pm on 27 July 2012. Financial bids of successful applicants will be opened subsequently in the office of the Finance Officer.
