More than two decades have passed since the activities on nanoscience and nanotechnology started with enormous promise and potential for various applications. Many of these ideas have been implemented into a number of applications already. Various classes of materials have been developed with novel low dimensional features over the past few years. The connection between nanotechnology and energy is inextricable. Many unique physical phenomena occur at the nanoscale through the confinement of allowable states of basic energy carries (like electrons, phonons, and photons). The consequences of these phenomena are manifested in various areas of applications related to energy science and technology and are being exploited with improving efficacy to address energy related problems. This ‘India Australia International Workshop on Nanotechnology in Materials and Energy Application ’ will mainly concentrate on the latest development on the nanomaterials and its applications in energy related fields which will be of immense benefit particularly to the young researchers.

First page About Jadavpur University Jadavpur University is one of the first five Universities of India with ‘potential for excellence’ conferred by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited the University with "Five Star" status for five years. It is the first Indian University to earn SYLFF status from Nippon Foundation, Japan. The University now offers Graduation and Master Degrees in 12 disciplines in the Faculty of Arts, in 6 disciplines in Science and in 17 disciplines in Engineering & Technology. In addition to these basic regular courses, Jadavpur University has a number of Schools and Centers of Advance Studies providing postgraduate, doctoral and postdoctoral level research programmes in various interdisciplinary and emerging disciplines. The University has the distinction of largest intake of undergraduates in the Engineering & Technology disciplines in India, at its two integrated campuses situated at Jadavpur and at Salt Lake Kolkata.
