Job The Knowledge Services (KS) department supports our consultants with the overview: planning and execution of demanding research projects for various topics and industries, as well as the interpretation, evaluation and preparation of results. We are currently seeking a Research Specialist for our Munich office with industry focus on the automotive sector, supporting client projects and practice business development activities. This role is linked to Oliver Wyman’s Automotive practice and requires regular interactions with practice leaders and senior practice-aligned consultants.
Key • Conduct market/competition analyses and summarize and evaluate responsibilities: research findings • Assist in the preparation of business proposals and client deliverables • Develop thought leadership and quickly educate junior consulting staff in key market drivers and trends in the Automotive industry • Conduct focused research to support writing of white papers and reports on key themes in the Automotive sector • Organize and lead complex research projects in collaboration with more junior team members • Collaborate with Consultants and the Knowledge Management team to manage projects and assist in the development and curation of practice- themed Intellectual Capital (IC) • Synthesize and package research deliverables employing Excel and PowerPoint to create impactful presentations
Experience • Advanced university degree, MBA strongly encouraged required: • 6 or more years professional experience in a consulting or market research context

Skills and • Strong interest in the Automotive industry; background in the industry a attributes: plus • Strong project management skills • Excellent communication skills in English and German; additional languages a plus • Comfort speaking and presenting to senior audiences and external clients of the firm • Evidence of a collaborative approach in previous roles with a highly- developed service orientation • Team player contributing to business success
Technical • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, skills: Outlook) • Knowledge of information products such as Thomson ONE, Bloomberg or Factiva
