Foreword

IN their growth in size from the paper covered booklets of earlier years and their consistent improvement since that, the Senior Annuals have in a striking way reflected the corresponding growth and development of our school. If the 192.6 KEEWAYDIN adequately represents the West High of today, both in spirit and in fact, and if addition it is able, rather by its attempts than by its successes to I serve as some inspiration to succeeding boards, it will i quite fully have fulfilled its purpose.

WE, the Class of June, 1916, being in a state of supreme unconsciousness and absolute impecuniosity, do make, publish and declare this our Last Will and Testament in the manner following, that is to say: First: to Mr. Cooper, desiring not to seem Ruthless, we leave the library and all it contains. Second: To the Juniors, we leave the windows so that they will take more panes with their work. Third: To the Sophomores, we leave the waves of the flag in hope that they will not attempt to bathe in them. Fourth: To those who come after us, we leave a large and varied assortment of senior essays that may be purchased at a nominal sum. Fifth: To the manager of the next senior play, we leave the plumbing fixtures used in our Senior Farce, "The Piper." Sixth: To Coach Tichenor we leave a few of our number who have fallen by the wayside that they may bolster up his ranks for next year. Seventh: To the school at large or small, we leave the memory of Louise Leonard's delightful voice which has brightened many a dreary assembly for those who languish under the "shelf. " Eighth: To "Uncle Jim" Spinning, the respect and appreciation of a grateful class. Being duly cussed at, looked over, and entangled in red tape, we hereby affix our great seal and adjourn to wait for the day of our everlasting freedom from the faculty.

N ^Advertisers

WE owe much to the people who have enough interest in our school to advertise in our Senior Annual. Whatever success this volume has attained is in a large measure due to their support.

It costs three times as much to publish a year book as it is sold for. The other two-thirds must be covered by advertising.

We urge you to patronize these concerns before con- tributing to the support of others who have not shown this spirit of cooperation. And when making a purchase please remark that you are buying it because you saw it advertised in the West High Senior Annual. Central Library of Rochester and Monroe County · Yearbook Collection
