The organizers, CORREMONTES DEL PICO DE ORIZABA, A.C. have given ourselves the task of carrying out sporting events of the specialty of TRAIL and ULTRATRAIL. In addition to being committed to the environment, we collaborate with the surrounding communities supporting young people with potential within athletics, primarily, the REFORESTATION and the performance of the activities of the Pico de Orizaba National Park, especially the Forest Fire Brigade . Through the joint participation of TRAIL RUNNERS, SPONSORS and ORGANIZERS, we provide SOLIDARITY resources to the community and the National Park, as mentioned above. This year we celebrate the fourth edition of the Sky Ultra Pico Mx 100M event (160 Km) which has been assessed by ITRA with 6 points. The highest rating granted by the ITRA. In 2018 Sky Ultra Pico Mx 130K took the FIRST place in Mexico of the ULTRATRAILS with 6 ITRA points. A part of the route of the Sky Ultra Pico Mx 100M coincides with the route made by the American expedition of Captain William F. Raynolds 171 years ago to the summit of Orizaba Peak, touching the highest point within the aforementioned National Park above 3,865 meters above sea level.

*Xochitlalis: It is a ceremonial offering that is given in tribute to God and Mother Earth, to ask for permission where the marathon is going to start, so that the runners conclude the race without any incident and Mother Earth protects them in their passage through the mountains. A tribute will be offered that will be buried in the atrium of the Zongolica church, from where the ultramarathon will depart, using holy water, so that the spirit of evil does not disturb the path of the trail runners, a cross adorned with flowers will be installed, it will smoke with copal, greeting with 12 xochimanales, with crumbling flowers, naming the four cardinal points, all the hills and mountains that are going to run. At the end you will have coffee and sweet bread, traditional Zongolican in coexistence with Mother Earth.

Launch into the race that starts in the Zongolica mountain range, the last stronghold of the NONOALCAS and that passes through QUETZALCOATL (Lord of life, of light and tatiaxca of knowledge, lord of the day and of the winds and sir of the west) inhabited and died. PICO DE ORIZABA or CITLALTEPETL, is epic. These two important sites are part of the SKY ULTRA PICO MX Route. It begins in the Sierra de Zongolica, land of the jaguar (tlatlauhquiocélotl), reaches the highest point in the Pico de Orizaba, habitat of the wildcat (kuawmistli) and ends in Orizaba. An extraordinary adventure that will allow trail runners to cross the jungle and the mountains. It is first of all to live an inner adventure, a unique experience in which each participant must strive and overcome their mental and physical limits to cross the FINISH LINE. This within the context of Mexican traditions: Xochitlalli and Xochicoskatl. The route runs along roads, paths, paths and gaps with any number of nuances, landscapes, viewpoints, villages and natural and architectural charms. The STARTING LINE is at the Independence Bridge of Orizaba, located in Poniente 3 street between Sur 4 and 8 streets. The path will take you to the Mountain the bank of the Orizaba River, the Tlachichilco Hill, Ixhuatlancillo, Mariano Escobedo and La Perla returning through it route and finally you will arrive at the FINISH LINE along the Paseo del Río Orizaba, in Plaza Bicentenario de Orizaba (1,236 masl) Qualified by ITRA with 3 points.
