Port Macquarie Basketball Association Waratah Junior League Season 2017 Players / Parents Manual Port Macquarie Basketball Association Waratah Junior League Season 2017 Players / Parents Manual The Junior Representative Program (JRP) comprises all teams entered into the Waratah Junior League (WJL) by PMBA and ranges from Under 12’s to Under 18’s in the CPL, NJL, and EJL competitions for both men and women. The JRP is a high level program, but open to all participants who have the commitment, ability and desire to contribute. PMBA encourages participation by high level athletes and coaches who can improve the JRP. The foundation of the JRP is made up of the following four groups: • Players • Parents • Coaches • PMBA & BNSW Staff and Officials This document outlines the upcoming representative program, qualification options for the various Waratah Leagues, and our representative fees breakdown. Our behaviour expectations and guidelines for Players and Parents involved in the PMBA Junior Representative Program are also covered in the following pages of this document. Program Objectives The Port Macquarie Basketball Association aims to create an environment in which all players and coaches at all levels in the Representative Program can reach their true potential by: • Providing quality programs in order to develop and improve the skills of all players and coaches; • Providing a mentor program for all coaches to ensure development and support throughout the season; • Developing an Association style of training and play to assist in the education of all players and coaches to ease the transition for players and coaches between the age groups; • Providing open and effective communication channels to assist in the management of all participants and their families; • Striving to compete in the top level of competition for all ages, with a development group to compete in the next division where appropriate; • Encouraging participation, a positive attitude and good sportsmanship. • Tourism in Southeast Asia
and parnwell hitchcock, king Tourism is one of the major forces for economic, social and cultural change in the Southeast Asian region and, as a complex multidimensional phenomenon, has attracted increasing scholarly attention during the past TOURISM two decades from researchers from a broad range of disciplines – not least anthropology, sociology, economics, political science, history, development IN SOUTHEAST ASIA studies and business/management. It has also commanded the attention of challenges and new directions policy-makers, planners and development practitioners. However, what has been lacking for many years is a volume that analyses tourism from the major disciplinary perspectives, considers major substantive themes of particular significance in the region (cultural IN TOURISM tourism, ecotourism, romance/sex tourism, etc.), and pays attention to such important conceptual issues as the interaction between local and global, the role of the state in identity formation, authenticity, the creation of ‘tradition’, and sustainability. Such a thorough analysis is offered by Tourism in Southeast Asia, which provides an up-to-date exploration of the state of tourism development and associated issues in one of the world’s most dynamic tourism destinations. The volume takes a close look at many of the challenges facing Southeast Asian tourism at a critical stage of transition and transformation, and following a recent series of crises and disasters. Building on and advancing the path-breaking Tourism in South-East ASIA SOUTHEAST Asia, produced by the same editors in 1993, it adopts a multidisciplinary approach and includes contributions from some of the leading researchers on tourism in Southeast Asia, presenting a number of fresh perspectives.

  • For My Parents, Seah Say Keow and Quek Soh Choo
For my parents, Seah Say Keow and Quek Soh Choo Acknowledgements I owe the completion of this doctoral project to my family’s assistance. My parents, in particular, gave unstinting support. Their courage, imagination, and constant tending contributed to my growth as a man. My sister is a pillar. I am very grateful and humbled. It is entirely proper to put on record that my family is pivotal in facilitating my completion of this arduous journey. Professors Alex Mills and Douglas Guilfoyle bear mention too. As my doctoral supervisors, both were exemplary. Alex came into my project at the final stage, but his expertise in private and public international law has enriched my research. Alex firmly steered me towards the finishing line, a kind gesture which I appreciated. As for Douglas, I valued his careful and constructive comments of my research, a duty which he continued to discharge long after he left UCL. The professionalism of Alex and Douglas directly shapes how I approach the teaching and supervision of my own students today. Finally, I must acknowledge Professor Colin Warbrick CMG. In the last century, he patiently taught me law as a young undergraduate at Durham. Those were halcyon days. When our paths crossed again many years later, in this century, Colin readily supported my doctoral application. As I settle into another life, far away from the United Kingdom, I am struck by the serendipity of meeting gifted educators during my time in this country. In this lifetime, I am lucky to be accorded this privilege because it is undeniably the most rewarding part of my doctoral journey.
