A Message from Jane Hall ! I fell in love with Jim the first time we met and I was lucky to spend the next 50+ years with him. His magic and kindness touched many both personally and from the stage. His kindness, generosity, and humor will not be forgotten, nor will his music as he lives on in our hearts. His friends included panhandlers, the rich and famous, and everyone in between including every dog and dog walker on the block. He received letters from all corners of the world saying that he changed lives and thanking him for sharing himself and his music. Everybody loved Jim and I am truly grateful for all the messages I !receive. There will be a celebration for Jim on April 18th, 19th, and 20th, 2014 at The Blue Note in New York. Jim made me promise there would be nothing religious, and no eulogies, so there will be much music and few words. I hope that those of you who love Jim and are in the neighborhood will come to listen to , , Joey Baron, Scott Colley, Steve LaSpina, Larry Goldings, , Eliza Callahan, Satoshi Inoe coming from Tokyo, Russell Malone, John Abercrombie, Chris Potter, and many more of Jim's musical colleagues from all over the world who will be playing in his honor.
