EEASTSIDEASTSIDE The El Sereno Bicentennial Committee produced the 50th Annual El Sereno Independence Day Parade on Sunday, July 5th. Federal Credit Union Branch in El Sereno, located on Huntington Drive. Aztec Dancers, and Mariachi’s, were present to entertain approximately two hundred community members, staff and credit union volunteers who showed up for the grand opening event after a year of planning and construction. The El Sereno Branch of the Cal State L.A. Federal Credit Union is now open for business. The anticipation mounted at the ribbon cutting ceremony, as guest gathered around the front doors of the credit union branch as Con- gratulatory Certifi cates were presented to the Chairperson of the Board Maria Gutierrez, by a representative from Senator Gloria Romero’s offi ce and Assemblymember Kevin DeLeon’s offi ce. Branch manager Luis Martinez and CEO, Connie L. Smith cut the rib- bon to the sounds of Mariachi music, as smiles from credit union em- ployees welcomed community members to tour the new facility.
