The Kwajalein Hourglass 6 Saturday, March 10, 2007 Downwind Dash draws age-diverse participation By Bob Sholar

The Kwajalein Run- ning Club conducted the 27th Annual Down- wind Dash on Monday. Thirty-four participants started on Ocean Road near the Golf Club- house and ran a bee- line one-mile course toward the Shark Pit. Jon Jahnke fi nished in 5 minutes and 27 sec- onds, leading the pack. John Vannoy followed in 5:49 completing this year’s ‘sub-six Club’. First for the women was Amy Vannoy in 8: 01. The fi eld for this event was typically remarkable in its age

diversity. The youngest (Photos by Valerie Hill) runner this year was 3- year old Sean Hepler. Sean Hepler, 3, comes to the fi nish line closely followed by mother Amy LaCost during the Downwind Dash race held Monday by the Kwajalein Running Club.
