Cape Town & Cape Winelands Full Day Tour
Known as the “Mother City”, Cape Town is the oldest city in South Africa. Perched between the ocean and the mountain, with a national park as its heart, there is nowhere like Cape Town. The Mother City has a cultural heritage spanning more than 300 years.
Itinerary
Stop At: Cape Town City You will be picked up at the port at 9:00am by a tour guide/driver in a luxury minibus and head off on an all-inclusive, full day Cape Town and Cape Winelands tour. Marvel around “the Mother City”, Cape Town and explore the city and surrounding area, including the city center, Company’s Gardens and the Bo Kaap. A part of this tour is walking around the city with your guide getting to know the city, its different cultures, history and geography. A highlight of the day is riding to the top of the famous Table Mountain in a cable car, for magnificent views over Table Bay, Robben Island, The Cape Peninsula and Lions Head. We will drive to the beautiful Atlantic seaside suburbs of Clifton and Camps Bay to see the Twelve Apostles Mountains before heading to the Cape Winelands
Stop At: Stellenbosch Proceed to Stellenbosch, drive along the scenic N2 and stop at DeMorgenzon wine estate in Stellenbosch for the first wine tasting of the day. DeMorgenzon is unique in that they have musical speakers scattered across the vineyards from which soft classical music can be heard. They also produce one of the best Chenin Blanc wines in the region. From there, proceed to one of the oldest towns in South Africa, Stellenbosch, for a town orientation tour.
Stop At: Clos Malverne Proceed at Clos Malverne for lunch, the restaurant offers you an utterly enjoyable intimate and friendly dining experience in unpretentious but beautiful surroundings. You dine, you and your guests will enjoy an unbelievable vista of the softly sweeping vineyards and rolling hills of Devon Valley ($ 15- 25)
Stop At: Paarl Continue to Marianne Wine Estate in Paarl to experience biltong and taste their wines. Marianne believes that pairing different types of biltong with red wine enhances the flavors of their wines. Continue to Fairview Vineyards and Goats Cheese for a cheese and wine tasting. Purchase your favorite cheese and condiments from the deli, as well as wine from a choice of 3 ranges in the tasting room.
Stop At: Drakenstein Prison As you follow along this route you’ll stop in front of Drakenstein Prison to see the Nelson Mandela monument. This prison is where Nelson Mandela spent his last days of incarceration before his walk to freedom.
Stop At: Franschhoek Next you’ll have a chance to explore the town of Franschhoek, known as the food and wine capital of South Africa. It is home to some of the finest restaurants and wine estates in the country. Learn about the French influence on the Cape winelands and explore a bit of the town itself. Later visit the Mont Rochelle wine estate owned by Sir Richard Branson. We will drive back toward the Cape Town port
Stop At: Harbour House Restaurant Before heading back to the port, you will stop at V&A Waterfront restaurant. Restaurant offers fine dining in a gorgeous setting. With wonderful glass walls encasing the tables you can enjoy the vibe of the Waterfront while you feast on world-class cuisine. The setting is elegant and simple, with the perfect backdrop of the Cape Town harbour. We will drop you at the port at around 9. 30pm ( Dinner $20-35)
