We have a genuine desire to grow in our relationship with God and authentically demonstrate His love for us to others. In doing so we will nourish spiritual growth as we spread the Gospel, share in fellowship and make disciples. OUR COMMUNITY:

• Washington, referred to locally as Little Washington to distinguish it from Washington, D.C., is a city in and the county seat of Washington County, , United States, within the Greater Region in the southwestern part of the state. The population was 13,663 at the 2010 census. New Hope Church is seated at the base of a large residential development consisting of a mix of age groups and families.

• Southwestern PA is one of the nicest places to live. The weather changes each season, and we have abundant outdoor activities and many cultural attractions. Whether you are on your own and want to explore or want to spend time with your family or others, Washington, PA has something you will enjoy. Local parks offer plenty of outdoor activities to choose from like and canoeing. Check out Washington Park, Mingo Creek Park, and Raccoon State Park to name a few.

Owing to the growing population of the Tylerdale section of Washington, PA, the organization of a Mission Sabbath School was deemed advisable. Early in 1893 the matter was presented to the Session of the First U.P. Church, Washington, PA and they declined to assume responsibility. It was then presented to the Session of the Second U.P. and it was decided to undertake the establishment of a Mission Sabbath School in the district school house known as Clark School. • October 29, 1895 - the first building was dedicated. 68 years later the church faced the problem of either repairing or building a new church • June 6, 1965 - The congregation voted to purchase 3.5 acres of ground from the Beatty Farm for the purpose of constructing a new church. • April 16, 1967 - Dedication Services held. • November 7, 1965 - Ground breaking ceremonies were held on the site.

• April, 1983 – Mortgage paid off in 17 years. • August, 1987 - First annual all Church retreat is held at Laurelville. • September, 2013 - Left PCUSA and joined the ECO • 2019 - Marks the 125th Anniversary of the church Where…The New Hope Church building is located in the village of Wolfdale.

What…Built on an overlooking perch of land in 1966, this beautiful stone building consists of a welcoming Sanctuary, Sunday School Rooms, Nursery, Offices, Chapel, Kitchen, Fellowship Hall and Lounge. Our beautiful Memorial Garden located near the entrance of the church serves as a spiritual haven for remembering loved ones.

Who…most importantly, we are close and hard working followers of Christ. A group of believers who continue to grow in the love and grace of Jesus Christ our Lord. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide spiritual and pastoral leadership in personal discipleship, stewardship, evangelism and community engagement • Moderator of the Session and the Congregation with the goal of spreading the word and love of Christ • Deliver sermons that are biblical, relevant, practical and engaging • Be accessible for member support and spiritual needs • Hospital, nursing home, and shut-in visitation • Outreach to inactive members • Weddings, funerals, baptisms and Bible study APPLICATIONS: Please forward your letter of interest and resume to Susan Raineri at [email protected] VISION – NEW HOPE FOR THE FUTURE
