AWARD / CATEGORY BRIEF DESCRIPTION ELIGIBILITY

Boren / Language Abroad Up to $20,000 to support 1-2 semesters abroad to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests but underrepresented in study abroad. Requires commitment to work in federal government for minimum of one year. U.S. Citizen.

Critical Language/ Cultural immersion program for American students includes Language Abroad intensive language instruction and structured cultural enrichment experiences designed to promote rapid language gains. Semester and Summer options. U.S. Citizen.

Gilman / Study Abroad Up to $5,000 to support study or internship abroad in areas of world not typically ofered in study abroad. Students studying Critical Need Languages while abroad eligible to apply for supplemental $3,000. Semester and U.S. Citizen receiving a Summer options. Federal Pell Grant.
