Thank you! The main section of this report covers the last fi nancial year, namely 1 July 2012 – 30 June 2013, but we have also included a section on our new Campaign for the Second Century. This received a remarkable lead gift that was announced during the 110th Rhodes Anniversary, from John McCall MacBain, our fi rst Second Century Founder, and Marcy McCall MacBain. The donation – up to £75 million in three tranches as matching requirements are met – offers an exciting, and unprecedented opportunity for Scholars and friends of the Scholarships to take part in securing the future. The impact of the Rhodes Scholarships in the world is dramatic, and we are working to ensure this continues. This includes deepening the Scholar experience both in Oxford and as a global community of Scholars, and looking at the possibilities for geographic expansion. A crucial part of this process is to secure the Scholarships fi nancially, and that is why each and every name recognised in this, our third annual Honour Roll, is so important. Any organisation is only as strong as those who belong within it and your commitment and dedication is something which fi lls us with confi dence for the future. The Rhodes Scholarships are a truly collaborative effort. Thank you. Our Second Century campaign goal was announced at £110 million. As the result of the lead gifts received, we are within striking distance of securing the current Scholarships once and for all and now have £50 million of this left to raise. We need your help to achieve that, and your donation will release the ‘matching’ element of the McCall MacBain Foundation gift, specifi cally a 1:1 match for donations to the Canadian Scholarships, and 1:2 match for others. The Campaign for the Second Century is a chance for all Rhodes Scholars to contribute to the future of the Scholarships, giving the next generation a chance to enjoy the unique experience of Oxford and to take their new knowledge and experiences with them as they disperse across the globe.
