Both junior and senior squads battled their way to closely contested 2-1 victories over the Tagwi Warriors, but had difficulty handling the Holy Trinity Fal- cons. Juniors launch Cheryl Williams’ SD&G volleyball Junior Devils kicked season on off last week’s (Wed., Dec. 22) home opener winning note going 0-3 against Holy Trinity (26-27, 14-25, 23-25) but rebounded in the late game, beating Tagwi 2-1 (24-26, 25-23, 25-13). “We were very close in two sets against Holy Trinity. They could have gone either way,” said Williams. “I thought we would be stronger against Tagwi after I watched Holy Trinity beat them handily, but we struggled a bit against them.” The North Dundas juniors launched the SD&G season on Tues., Dec. 14 sweeping the General Vanier Vikings 3-0 and losing 3-0 to the La Citadelle Patriots and will carry a 5-7 record into 2011. The Devils will open the new year at Seaway District High on Mon., Jan. 17.

Senior Devils The Senior Devils, coached by Patti Hall, took one set (25-21) in their opening match with Holy Trinity, but lost 26-24 and 25-8.
