TOSEN, LE ROMAIN OUT OF GEORGE MAIN ON COURSE Winx (Aus) (Street Cry {Ire})=s opposition in Saturday=s G1 FOR ARC BID George Main S. has been whittled down to just five with the scratching of Tosen Stardom (Jpn) (Deep Impact {Jpn}) and Le Romain (Aus) (Hard Spun). The 5-year-old Tosen Stardom with withdrawn after suffering a cut to his leg on the float ride from Victoria, according to Racing.com. While the minor injury is not expected to have an impact on the remainder of Tosen Stardom=s season, trainer Darren Weir opted to not take his chances on Saturday and returned his charge to Victoria. Le Romain instead contested Friday=s G3 Australian Bloodstock Cameron H. at Newcastle, finishing second. Winx, who seeks her 11th-straight win in the 1600-metre Randwick contest, is a heavy $1.08 favourite for the George Main.

The 5-year-old kicked off the streak in last year=s G1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth S. and added the G2 before the end of the term. Postponed On Course For Arc Bid cont. from p1 AI thought the race at Leopardstown [last weekend=s G1 Irish Champion S. won by ] was fascinating, although it was quite a rough race,@ Varian added. AIt's a short straight at Leopardstown and I would not condemn the horses that didn't win there." Fourth in the Irish Champion was last year=s G1 Prix du winner New Bay (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}), and Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager to owner Khalid Abdullah, has confirmed the colt for the Arc. Grimthorpe was less committal about Midterm (GB) (Galileo {Ire}), who returned from an injury induced layoff to be second in the G2 last weekend. "Midterm has come out of the race well,@ Grimthorpe said. AThere's no decision on where he runs yet. New Bay will head to the Arc, but that will have no bearing on whether Midterm goes there.@ In other Arc news, Sky Sports 2 will broadcast the Arc and more than three hours of live coverage to fill the gap left by Channel 4, according to Racing Post.

The buy-back rate was 30.46% vs. 28.33% in 2015. The day=s top price was the $1 million paid by agent Mike Ryan on behalf of e Five Racing for hip 845. Click or tap here to go season. But never has his name graced the trophy given out for straight to TDN Europe. the GI Ricoh Woodbine Mile, a wrong he will hope to right when he sends out reigning Eclipse Award-winning turf female Tepin (Bernstein) Saturday afternoon. The Robert Masterson colorbearer would be in search of a 13th straight victory were it not for a pair of excruciating losses at Saratoga during the summer of 2015 and makes her sixth trip to the post this season in the Mile. No better than 2-5 in any of her first four starts this term, the bay was a comparatively 11-2 shot in the G1 Queen Anne S. at Royal Ascot June 14. She never really seemed at home over the very easy going, but came to win her race a furlong from home and lasted by a half-length. Connections report she has returned to her best form over the last several weeks and she=s strictly the one to beat at an unbettable quote. Tepin will look to become just the second female to defeat the boys in the Woodbine Mile, joining Ventura (Chester House), who accomplished the feat in 2009 after finishing runner-up the year prior. Though he has never won the Mile, Casse sent out Kaigun (Northern Afleet) to a close second-place finish in this event in 2014. McLaughlin Stable Plans cont. "I just got back from Kentucky and I spoke to [Godolphin Racing's] John Ferguson and Jimmy Bell and Frosted will most likely wait until the Breeders' Cup but it's not completely confirmed," McLaughlin said. "And whether it's the Mile or the Classic, we still haven't decided." Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa al Maktoum=s Mubtaahij (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}), second to Shaman Ghost in the Woodward, is set to represent the stable in the GI Jockey Club Gold Cup in the second of the two >Super Saturday= programs Oct. 8. He could be joined in the gate by >TDN Rising Star= Watershed (Bernardini), who exits a third-place effort in the GIII Philip H. Iselin S. at Monmouth Park Aug. 27. "It's a step up for him, he was third at Monmouth but we think he's that type so we're going to try him," he said. Coming off a strong runner-up effort in the GI Forego S. at Saratoga Aug. 27, Shadwell Stable=s Tamarkuz (Speightstown) has been penciled in for a start in the GII Kelso H. going Belmont=s one-turn mile. Mike Smith has a return call on the 6-year-old, whose best career victory came in the G2 in 2015. "A mile is his best distance, so we're happy Mike Smith is coming in to ride," McLaughlin said. "He ran super in the Forego and we think he's going to be tough in this one." Sentiero Italia (Medaglia d=Oro), a latest third in the GII Ballston Spa S. at Saratoga Aug. 27, will stretch back out to 10 furlongs for the GI Flower Bowl Invitational S. "She came out of the Ballston Spa well and she ran a big race," said McLaughlin. "Turning for home in the late stretch she hooked up with Lady Eli (Divine Park) and held her own before Mark [Hennig's] filly [Strike Charmer {Smart Strike}] passed us but it was an encouraging effort. We'll look for her to move forward off of it; hopefully she'll perform well."
