About the ISEP programme

The International Student Exchange Programme (ISEP) is a non-profit membership organisation of over 300 Universities worldwide. The aim of ISEP is to provide affordable study abroad and exchange experiences, and has done so to over 37,000 students since 1979. The ISEP network gives you access to host university courses, services and activities – just like any local student. On-site ISEP co-ordinators provide a special orientation programme, facilitate housing arrangements, assist with registration and assist with your queries.

The University of Bradford is one of only five Universities in the UK to be a member of ISEP International Exchange programmes. Our new international membership enables students to study at all ISEP partner Universities as an exchange student. The ISEP network offers you the chance to study at 200 colleges and universities in 45 states in the United States as well as over 30 other countries including Ghana and Uruguay. It is an affordable way to study, as the cost is based on the student’s home University prices. This means that students pay accommodation and meals based on Bradford prices. There is no cost for tuition at the partner institution on ISEP exchange.

Students who study in the USA also have the opportunity to have a period of academic training (work placement/internship) on completion of their studies. The period of academic training will be the same length of time as the study period.

Therefore if you study for one semester in semester 2, then you can stay for academic training over the summer. This will be organised by your host institution.

Students may also take part in summer ISEP programmes, the details of which are available on the www.isep.org website.

Further details about the host Universities, courses and tips for applying are available on www.isep.org

Information sessions will also be held by the International Office. The dates of the Information Sessions are on the International Office website: www.bradford.ac.uk/international

Main Features of ISEP n All students pay housing and meals based on Bradford prices!

n Students can apply for up to 10 Universities (Over 200 worldwide Universities to choose from)

18 Study Abroad Opportunities for University of Bradford Students Study China The Study China Programme is a three-week, residential government-funded study programme aimed at giving students more international mobility experience and increasing their knowledge and understanding of Chinese language and culture. This is a perfect programme for students who may have difficulty in studying abroad, as part of their degree course. The programme offers undergraduate and postgraduate students an opportunity to visit China over the University breaks including Christmas, Easter and summer. Students will visit Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing or Jinan and follow a timetable of activities and classes designed to develop Chinese language skills, knowledge of current economic climate, arts, history and culture. Students do not need to have any prior understanding of the Chinese language to take part in this programme. All tuition and accommodation fees are paid on your behalf; however, students must finance their own travel costs and take some spending money.

Students require a reference to support their application and this must be submitted online by an academic member of staff or administrative staff to confirm registration as a student.
