Status Update of Corona Virus Infection of Province 5 Banke / 3 May, 2020 In Province 5, 15 positive cases of Covid-19 were detected. There are 17 confirmed cases till date. The first case of infection started from Rupandehi and Banke with two people added. The infection was confirmed on a 60-year-old man and his family. After confirmation of the infection in Banke district 90 swab were collected and 15 positive cases were found. The remaining 60 reports are yet to come. According to the District Representative of Kapilbastu, Parbati Acharya, Chief District Officer, Superintendent of Nepal Police and Superintendent of National Investigation Department have monitored the border area and it has been tighten to control of unnecessary crowd. According to the Chief District Officer Dirgha Narayan Poudel the neighboring districts also have tightened their borders and frequent monitoring is followed. According to Officer of Cottage and Small Industry Office Rajan KC the monitoring was followed as per the comments from local consumers; despite the lock down the market price of daily consumption materials have hiked. The team has monitored groceries of Banganga Municiplity of Jitpur. According to decision of District Administration Office the small scale development work plan was followed up by Deputy Mayor Chakrapani Aryal. According to the District Representative of Rolpa, Harisara Gharti, Madi Municipality’s quarantine shelter has discharged 16 people and Hemanta Basic School of Runtigadhi Municipality’s has discharged 51 without RDT due to lack of RDT Kit. According to the District Representative of Dang, Jaya Narayan Pun, relief has been distributed to 17,903 families of daily waged worker those who were suffering from lockdown. According to District Emergency Operation Guideline, Tulsipur Municipality’s 5,049, Ghorahi Municipality’s 1,924, Lamahi Municipality’s 2,764, Rapti Rural Municipality’s 746 , Gadhawa Municipality’s 2,986, Rajpur Rural Municipality’s 741, Bangalachuli Rural Municipality’s 897, Dangisaran Rural Municipality’s 759 , Shantinagar Municipality’s 1,092 and Babai Rural Municipality’s 945 families received relief. Moreover, the decision on work paying modality of relief distribution second cycle package mechanism of Tulsipur Municipality was commented by Rastriya Janamorcha with a release of press statement on 3 May, 2020. They have requested to improvise it. According to the District Representative of Nawalparasi , Narayan Parajuli After the detection confirmation of Covid-19 in neighboring district they have increased number of experiment. 152 cases are found negative up to May 3 moreover the boarder and neighboring district entry point has been tighten for the people’s movement said by District Administrative office. According to the District Representative of Banke, Smriti Devkota, In Nepalgunj Sub Metropolitan city of ward 7 and 8 has found 15 people infection detection with positive of Covid-19 among them 8 are male and 7 are female. The infected people are age from seven to sixty. Up to now the total infected people in district are sixteen. According to Doctor of Bheri Zonal hospital Dr.Praksah Thpa the situation of infected people are normal. The 21 Nepali people from Indian Quarantine have arrived on May 2 on the way of Suinya boarder. According to Chairman of Narainapur rural Municipality Istiyak Ahmad these people are kept nearest Nepal India boarder and managed food for them. According to the District Representative of Gulmi,Toplal Aryal, The local authority of Gulmi has asked for covid-19 RDT Kit, PPE, health equipment and relief distribution for daily waged workers with federal and provincial government. With the District Coordination Committee, Provincial Assembly members monitored the relief distribution, quarantine and impacted area of development project due to lockdown. During monitoring Chandrakot Rural Municipality, Kaligandaki Rural Municipality and Satwayati Rural Municipality’s elected representative requested the Federal and Province Government to support relief distribution. According to the Chairperson of Chandrakot Rural Municipality Drona Bahadur Khatri due to lack of RDT kit they are unable to test people who are coming from India and other countries. Similarly, The chairperson of Isma Rural Municipality; Laxman Bista informed that due to the lack of coordination with Federal, Provincial and Local Government they are unable to solve this problem. He claimed that the provincial government is unable to provide support and health care equipment. According to the District Representative of Bardiya Man Bahadaur Chaudhary, The District Administration Office of Bardiya has called meeting of Corona virus Management and Coordination Committee after the confirmation of Covid-19 in Banke and Kailali. The meeting has finalized to control unnecessary movement of people and tightened the border area. Moreover, they have decided to examine labourers, students and other professionals.
