Acid Pit is a metal band from Delhi, formed in late 2011. They released a single in mid-2012 called Up From Slavery on Soundcloud.Acid Pit's music has seen a variety of changes ranging from a very Lamb Of God influenced brand of groove metal, to a very short stint of death metal influence, to the sound that they currently stick to, which is closer to the sound of newer iterations of metal, ranging from progressive and groove. The bands influences range from Lamb Of God, Meshuggah, Gojira, Devil- driver to more recent bands like Wage War, Thy Art Is Murder Monuments, to name a few. In the time span they have been together, Acid Pit has experienced various lineup changes and the only person who is currently in the band from the origi- nal lineup is the band's vocalist, Gaurav Dabral. The band laid dormant from the years 2013-2015. In mid-2015, a new lineup emerged, and hence a new sound surfaced. The band's current lineup in addi- tion to Gaurav is Himanshu Singh on the drums, Abhiruk Patowary on the bass, Ishaan Vajpai on guitars and Shubhodeep Dey on guitars and clean vocals. Acid Pit has played in venues like antiSO- CIAL, Matchbox, Turquoise Cottage and Moonshine, to name a few. They were also the winners of IIT Delhi's prestigious battle of bands, Blitzkrieg, in 2018. All the pro- duction work ranging from audio, video, and design is being done by the band themselves for their songs in concern, as well as a few of the subsequent songs. They'll also be seen playing in cities like Bangalore and Mumbai, in the upcoming months. The song Desolation will be available on all major streaming platforms like Spotify, You- tube Music, Apple Music, etc., along with its music video.
