Pilgrimage to Lough Derg – A three day retreat will take place in Lough Derg, NEXT Friday 11th June - Sunday, 13th June. The bus will leave Renmore Church at 7.15am on Friday, 11th June. Pilgrimage to Lourdes – The Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes will be held this year from August 3rd-10th. The Archbishop will lead the Pilgrimage. All are welcome. Ability West provide a range of personal high quality, community based services to persons with intellectual disabilities and their families. Services are provided for children, teenagers and adults. It is the objective of their services to develop the potential of each person they serve. They recognise that each person has the same rights and needs as other members of the community and strives to ensure that all individuals participate in their local community. CONGRATULATIONS: Two local students have brought honour to the Lackagh area by winning a prestigious national quiz competition. Jason and Zachary Browne were part of the Presentation College, Athenry team who won the TCH (Thomas Crosbie Holdings) All-Ireland Schools' Quiz title for a second time last Thursday. The contest is open to all second-level schools on the island of Ireland and 115 schools took part in the contest that began last February. The achievement is historic for Jason as he is the only student in the history of the quiz to twice captain a team to win the title. The vastly-experienced team, was coached throughout by Niall Duddy from Cregmore. Jason and Zachary are sons of Billy and Myra (Delaney) Browne of Lackagh. Congratulations to all concerned on the big win. Lackagh Museum & Community Development Association will hold their AGM on Tues. 15th June at 9pm in the IT Centre, Lackagh. Meeting is open to all; especially anyone who is interested in Heritage, Local History, Education in IT and other aspects of Social & Community Development. The committee would like to thank the community for their continued support in helping us maintain and develop this asset on behalf of the parish. Coolarne are holding a bag packing fundraiser in Flynn's supermarket on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th June. Thank you for your support. Family Day will take place in S.M.A. House, Claregalway on THIS Sunday, 6th June, 1-5pm. You can help by baking a cake, donating good quality unwanted gifts. No electrical goods please. Proceeds are in aid of the Missions. Leaving Cert Class of 1960 Calasanctius College, Oranmore (Formerly P.C.O) are marking their 50th Anniversary and would like all past pupils and staff from that era to celebrate with them at an informal get- together in The Oranmore Lodge Hotel on Saturday 19th June from 3:00pm.
