The public is welcome at a reception for this prolific artist to be held on May 8th from 6 to 8 P.M. Dirolf will give a talk about his work at 7 p.m. Dirolf’s show will include wood engraving, paintings and drawings. He demonstrates his love of nature and realism, spending much time in the Adirondacks for inspiration. Dirolf was a graphic  artist before starting a career as a high school  art teacher in Bethlehem, NY. He joined The McKrells; a unique blend of Celtic and bluegrass music and voted Best Bluegrass Band by the Northeast Country Music Association in 2000 Post & Beam Homes and 2001. The Tennant family who operated the large Mike Gaggi woodenware mill at the end of Tennantville Rd. had many hired hands. My grandfather Cecil Electrician Edwards was a farm hand at Tennants when he first met my grandmother Chitto Knowlton from Stony Creek who was a hired girl in the Tennant Licensed household. & Insured Scott Robinson had a rather unique situation with his hired man. Mert Rhodes had gotten into some trouble with the law and was required to work off his sentence on Scott’s farm-a 20th Residential century work release program. & The Edwards farm on Tennantville Rd. had its fair share of hired men. Their large herd of cows Commercial provided surplus milk that was sold to a local dairy thus demanding extra help to keep up with Wiring the chores.
