ATTENTION ALL TEACHERS! Sierra Nevada Ballet Northern Nevada’s professional ballet company is delighted to invite you and your students to our annual presentation of PEANUTCRACKER – The Story in a Nutshell Reno Pioneer Center Monday, December 16, 2019
Performances at 10:00am and 12:00pm – bus approved schedule The ticket price is $5.00 per person *Education Packet for teachers available upon request Based on the original NUTCRACKER, this 45-minute version is a short narrated version of the Nutcracker Ballet, especially designed to educate children (K-8) and introduce them to the wonderful world of ballet. A free, pre-performance educational packet with common core standard is available to all teachers. This exciting version of the ballet was inspired, and written for a younger audience, by Sierra Nevada Ballet’s Artistic Director, Rosine Bena. Ms. Bena, a professional Ballerina, danced throughout the USA and Europe with the Stuttgart Ballet, the Washington Ballet, and Peninsula Ballet Theater. Ms. Bena danced the role of the Sugarplum Fairy professionally for twenty-five years. Nutcracker is often a child’s first introduction to ballet and Ms. Bena found a way of making this a more personal experience for audience members by including the magical storytelling of what is happening on stage. The Peanutcracker – The Story In A Nutshell will feature Sierra Nevada Ballet’s professional dancers and apprentices, in addition to dance students from schools in the local community. *Teachers - please see the MANDATORY STEPS TO FOLLOW on the next page: We look forward to seeing you and your students at this wonderful performance of the Nutcracker! 2. Teachers are responsible for making their transportation arrangements through their normal school process. Buses have been reserved specifically for this performance.
