We are critical to the cultural life of the communities of which we are a part." The IN THE WINGS Arts-In-Educatiofl Eunice Wadewitz Program serves as the primary and frontline contact in the Civic Theatre's Musk & Education mission of outreach and education. Working through schools and social Director service agencies to especially target the underserved population, it strives to introduce the theater arts to youth, their families and adults through free ticket performances with post-show talk backs, study guides, outreach workshops, internships, and Civic Tlieatre tours. © Sweetwater would like to thankyou for'jour continued support of the Fort Wayne Civic Theatre.

We believe that the arts help to build the community, and events such as "Beauty and the Beast" are fine examples of the creative spirit that lives here in Fort Wayne.

We invite you to sit back, relax, and enjoy the performance. Sweetwater Music Instruments & Pro Audio 432-8176 • sweetwater.com 550I US Highway 30 W keyboards • guitars * recording & live sound equipment © GUEST DIRECTOR'S NOTES Debates have raged for years regarding who first uttered these profound words: "There are no small parts, only small actors!" (Constantine Stanislavesky? Edwin Booth? Rosie O'Donnell?) No one can debate the merits of Beauty and The Beast for it has enthralled all ages since its publication in 1756! Walt Disney's animated film gave it added luster and the stage version made Broadway history! (It is now the 6th longest running show in the annals of the Great White Way!) Two years ago the Civic Theatre chose the Broadway musical to open its 77111' ) season! "Popular demand" has brought it back as the first show of it's 79,h season! Why such a demand? Was it the original and - wonderful cast or its unique and clever costumes or its tuneful score? One can ^)) make his own choice but audiences stood to cheer the entire production at the conclusion of every performance! Will history repeat itself with the new Beauty and The Beast? We believe that it will receive an equally royal reception for it has NEW Disney- style sets, NEW exciting dances, a NEW Belle and Beast, a NEW Lumiere and Cogsworth, a NEW Gaston and Lefou, a NEW Chip and Wardrobe, a NEW Monsier D'Arque and a NEW outstanding ensemble of singers and dancers! An added plus is the return of Lori Leonard as the loveable Mrs. Potts and Ron Smith as befuddled Maurice! Many artists, technicians and volunteers, like the performers, have labored for weeks to improve every aspect of the show! (The front of the house staff and volunteers are also part of the NEW look!) If you elect to stand and applaud at the shows final curtain include one and all in your tribute! There are "no small parts" nor "small actors" in our Beauty and The Beastl - Harvey Cocks, Guest Director. it PIT ENSEMBLE Eunice Wadewitz-Conductor/Keyboard Melissa Baughman - Keyboard Holly Knott - Keyboard Aimee Slone - Flute/Piccolo Grant Louvier- Oboe/English Horn Sue Devito - Clarinet/Flute/Bass Clarinet Akira Murotani - Trumpet Katherine Loesch - French Horn Jason Slone - Percussion © CAST
