Turin, 15th July, 2021

Taking its second award of the year so far in the UK, the IVECO Daily 7-Ton has once again stood its ground against much larger competition to be named Fleet News’ Rigid Truck of the Year (6-16 tonnes).

The annual Fleet News Awards this year took place at Ascot Racecourse and for the first time also incorporated the Commercial Fleet Awards to celebrate distinction across the hugely varied fleet sector.

The judges, made up of a panel of key industry market makers and the Fleet News editorial team, remarked that “This seven-ton model comes in a variety of powertrains including diesel and CNG options, and body configurations, making it a clear winner. Flexible, manoeuvrable and with an impressive payload, it’s clear to see why the Daily 7-Ton is a very popular vehicle with fleet operators.”

Sitting at the top of the most comprehensive gross vehicle weight range on the market, Daily 7-Ton can offer operators up to 4,900kgs (chassis cab) in payload on its extremely tough C-shaped ladder frame chassis. Stretching from 16m3 to a class-leading 19.6m3, panel van variants of Daily 7-Ton present an ideal base for load carrying or conversions.

Alongside Crew Cab and stripped chassis cowls, Daily 7-Ton chassis is available with wheelbases from 3450mm and reaching up to 5100mm suitable for bodies of almost 7m in length and over and 2.5m wide. All the while, Daily retains its comfortable, -like driving experience and exceptionally tight turning circle.

Pulling power comes from a range of strong and efficient 3-litre F1C turbodiesel engines with a choice of 160hp, 180hp and 210hp and a maximum 470Nm of torque. Daily 7-Ton is also available with a Compressed Natural Gas engine that produces 136hp and 350nm with up to 95% reduction in CO2 when filled with biomethane.

A 6-speed manual transmission is available on the 160hp, 180hp and CNG engines, while IVECO’s renowned 8-speed HI-MATIC automatic gearbox can be specified on the 180 and 210hp diesels as well as the CNG. The gearbox can swap ratios in 200 milliseconds, ensuring the perfect blend of power and economy in every situation while reducing driver fatigue in busy urban traffic.

With over 40-years of experience, continually striving to redefine the boundaries of functionality and durability, Daily offers a complete transport solution in any mission. Supported by IVECO’s truck culture, the same responsive Assistance Non-Stop 24/7 roadside support network is always on hand, backed by the same commercial workshops that care for the brand’s heavy . Not only that, but Daily operators too can benefit from an impressive collection of smart and connected IVECO ON Repair & Maintenance packages to ensure that each vehicle maximises its TCO potential. Maximum uptime is reached through adaptable service intervals depending on vehicle use, with driving style improvement suggestions, and a connection to IVECO’s Control Room to keep a watchful eye on running performance. In addition, the driver can now initiate over-the-air updates from the comfort of the cab using the clear and reactive 7” Hi-Connect infotainment system, without having to stop at a workshop.
