Ltd., Metropolitan Expressway Company Limited and Marubeni Corporation as the result of “Study on the Economic Partnership Projects in Developing Countries in Fiscal Year 2017” for the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry. The study presented here is titled “Study on YANGON INNER RING ROAD CONSTRUCTION PROJECT IN THE REPUBLIC OF THE UNION OF MYANMAR”. The project aims to construct 24km long motor way along with its O&M in Yangon, former capital city of Myanmar, by PPP scheme. As in other Asian major cities, in Yangon the number of vehicles has increased sharply with the rapid population increase. As a result, traffic congestion occurs through daytime although it only occurred in the morning and evening commuting time become a big social problem. This survey is to study the countermeasure for this urgent issue and contributes to the development of Yangon. We hope this report will contribute to the realization of the project mentioned above and serve as reference for the related organizations and parties in Japan. The successful planning and implementation of the census activities, followed by the timely release of the provisional results in August 2014 and now the main results in May 2015, is a clear testimony of the Government’s resolve to publish all information collected from respondents in accordance with the Population and Housing Census Law No. 19 of 2013. It is my hope that the main census results will be interpreted correctly and will effectively inform the planning and decision-making processes in our quest for national development. The census structures put in place, including the Central Census Commission, Census Committees and Offices at all administrative levels and the International Technical Advisory Board (ITAB), a group of 15 experts from different countries and institutions involved in censuses and statistics internationally, provided the requisite administrative and technical inputs for the implementation of the census. -

Euro-Burma Office 10 November 22 November 2010 Election Monitor ELECTION MONITOR NO. 49 DIPLOMATS OF FOREIGN MISSIONS OBSERVE VOTING PROCESS IN VARIOUS STATES AND REGIONS Representatives of foreign embassies and UN agencies based in Myanmar, members of the Myanmar Foreign Correspondents Club and local journalists observed the polling stations and studied the casting of votes at a number of polling stations on the day of the elections. According the state-run media, the diplomats and guests were organized into small groups and conducted to the various regions and states to witness the elections. The following are the number of polling stations and number of eligible voters for the various regions and states:1 1. Kachin State - 866 polling stations for 824,968 eligible voters. 2. Magway Region- 4436 polling stations in 1705 wards and villages with 2,695,546 eligible voters 3. Chin State - 510 polling stations with 66827 eligible voters 4. Sagaing Region - 3,307 polling stations with 3,114,222 eligible voters in 125 constituencies 5. Bago Region - 1251 polling stations and 1057656 voters 6. Shan State (North ) - 1268 polling stations in five districts, 19 townships and 839 wards/ villages and there were 1,060,807 eligible voters. 7. Shan State(East) - 506 polling stations and 331,448 eligible voters 8. Shan State (South)- 908,030 eligible voters cast votes at 975 polling stations 9. Mandalay Region - 653 polling stations where more than 85,500 eligible voters 10. Rakhine State - 2824 polling stations and over 1769000 eligible voters in 17 townships in Rakhine State, 1267 polling stations and over 863000 eligible voters in Sittway District and 139 polling stations and over 146000 eligible voters in Sittway Township. -

The study area is included fifteen wards. This paper emphasizes on the spatial distribution patterns of these schools are analyzed by using appropriate data analysis methods. This study is divided into two types of schools, they are governmental schools and nongovernmental schools. Qualitative and quantitative methods are used to express the spatial distribution patterns of Basic Education Schools in Pathein City. Primary data are obtained from field surveys, informal interview, and open type interview .Secondary data are collected from the offices and departments concerned .Detailed facts are obtained from local authorities and experience persons by open type interview. Key words: spatial distribution patterns, education, schools, primary data ,secondary data Introduction The study area, Pathein City is situated in the Ayeyarwady Region. Regarding the Multiparty General Election held on 8 November 2020, the Union Election Commission has inspected the voter lists and the casting of votes of Khamti, Homalin, Leshi, Lahe, Nanyun, Mawlaik and Phaungpyin townships of Sagaing Region. 2. According to the inspection, the previous election commission released 401,918 eligible voters in these seven townships of Sagaing Region. The list of the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population in November 2020 showed 321,347 eligible voters who had turned 18. The voter lists mentioned that there were 51,461 citizens, associate citizens, naturalized citizens, and non-identity voters, 8,840 persons repeated on the voter lists more than three times and 48,932 persons repeated on the voter lists two times. Executive Summary 1.1 The main purpose of this report is to update on the situation in Myanmar with regard to measures taken for the implementation of the UNCCD at the national level since its submission of the first national report in August 2000. 1.2 Myanmar acceded to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) in January 1997. Even before Myanmar’s accession to UNCCD, measures relating to combating desertification have been taken at the local and national levels. In 1994, the Ministry of Forestry (MOF) launched a 3-year "Greening Project for the Nine Critical Districts" of Sagaing, Magway and Mandalay Divisions in the Dry Zone. This was later extended to 13 districts with the creation of new department, the Dry Zone Greening Department (DZGD) in 1997. 1.3 The Government has stepped up its efforts on preventing land degradation and combating desertification in recent years. The most significant effort is the rural area development programme envisaged in the current Third Short-Term Five-Year Plan (2001-2002 to 2005-2006). The rural development programme has laid down 5 main activities. -

Magway Operational Brief WFP Myanmar Overview Magway Region with 3.9 million, representing 7 percent of the country’s population, is located in the central part of Myanmar, bordering with Sagaing Region in the north, Mandalay Region in the east, Bago Region in the south and Rakhine and Chin States in the west. Despite largest land area, economically, it is one of the poorest regions in Myanmar due to lack of job and poor infrastructure and services. Moreover, limited access to land, inadequate farming inputs, drought, and scarcity of water and declination of soil fertility also lead to food insecurity of the vulnerable. Rural population accounts for 15 percent of the total in the region. The chronic food insecurity causes migration of the local people and many social and health problems. The chronic poverty and high vulnerability to shocks are widespread throughout the region. A food security, poverty and nutrition survey conducted in 2013 by WFP and Save the Children in the Dry Zone - large part of Magway, Mandalay and lower part of Sagaing Divisions - reported that 26 percent of the people in Dry Zone live below the poverty line and 18 percent is food-insecure. Chronic and acute malnutrition was found to be widespread among children under the age of five with 12 percent acutely malnourished while 27 percent chronically malnourished. In 2003, WFP opened a sub-office in Pakkoku to provide relief food assistance to families, whose breadwinners contracted HIV/TB. The food assistance was provided through the direct support from Fund for HIV/AIDS for Myanmar (FAHM). -
