Årets polarpristagare Patti Smith släpper ”Outside Society ”– en karriärstäckande CD samling från 1975 till 2007. Albumet släpps den 24 augusti och kommer även att finnas som dubbelvinyl.

Med 18 kronologiskt arrangerade låtar följer vi Pattis karriär från debutalbumet (Horses) år 1975 med låtarna “Gloria” och “Free Money” fram till 2007 (Twelve) och coverversionen av Nirvanas “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. Musiken är remastrad av prisbelönta ljudteknikern Greg Calbi samt Patti Smiths bandmedlem Tony Shanahan. I CD bookleten har Patti skrivit personliga texter och reflektioner om varje låt. “Bruce Springsteen gave me a great gift in allowing me to lend verses to his beautifully constructed anthem. My contribution was written for my future husband, Fred ‘Sonic’ Smith. Patti Smith utsågs nyligen till 2011-års vinnare av Polarpriset som delas ut i Stockholm den 30 augusti.
