Rock Album Discography Last up-date: September 27th, 2021 Rock Album Discography “Music was my first love, and it will be my last” was the first line of the virteous song “Music” on the album “Rebel”, which was produced by Alan Parson, sung by John Miles, and released I n 1976. From my point of view, there is no other citation, which more properly expresses the emotional impact of music to human beings. People come and go, but music remains forever, since acoustic waves are not bound to matter like monuments, paintings, or sculptures. In contrast, music as sound in general is transmitted by matter vibrations and can be reproduced independent of space and time. In this way, music is able to connect humans from the earliest high cultures to people of our present societies all over the world. Music is indeed a universal language and likely not restricted to our planetary society. The importance of music to the human society is also underlined by the Voyager mission: Both Voyager spacecrafts, which were launched at August 20th and September 05th, 1977, are bound for the stars, now, after their visits to the outer planets of our solar system (mission status: https://voyager.jpl.nasa.gov/mission/status/). They carry a gold- plated copper phonograph record, which comprises 90 minutes of music selected from all cultures next to sounds, spoken messages, and images from our planet Earth. There is rather little hope that any extraterrestrial form of life will ever come along the Voyager spacecrafts. But if this is yet going to happen they are likely able to understand the sound of music from these records at least. The American astronomer and author Prof. Carl Sagan (1934 - 1996), who is one of the initiators of the record for the Voyager missions, quoted in his book “Murmurs of Earth”, that there is maybe a universal form of music. My personal opinion is that music as well as physics is indeed universal. In other words, music and physics, in particular astronomy & cosmology, are the only disciplines, which are worth to take an interest in for a whole lifetime. This brief listing refers to so called popular music solely. It gives an overview of published albums (as LP or CD) of the most important bands/groups, solo artists, and soundtracks in the history of popular music since the early 20th century. It summarises important commercial releases from Acid (house, jazz, techno, trance), Alternative (country, dance, hip hop, metal R&B, rock), Beat, Blues, Country (blues, folk, pop, rap, rock), Disco, Electronic (body music, dance, music, rock), Folk (metal, jazz, pop, punk, rock), Funk (pop, metal, rock), Fusion, Garage (house, rock), Gospel, Grunge, Indie (folk, pop, rock, jazz), Jazz (blues, funk, fusion, rap), Metal, NDW, New Age, New Beat, New Wave, Dark Wave, Pop (Euro, folk, punk, rap, rock), Protest, Punk (blues, cabaret, jazz, neo, post), R&B, Rap, Reggae (dancehall, fusion, highlife), Rock (Acid, Afro, Art, Blues Classic, Experimental, Glam, Gothic, Hard, Indie, Industrial, Jam, Kraut, Latin, Post, Progressive, Psychedelic, Soft, Southern), Rock’n Roll, Rockabilly, Soul (blues, jazz), Swamp (blues, pop, rock), Swing, Techno, Two-Tone, Western (blues, swing), and World music. Additionaly, the period of activity of the listed bands/groups and artists is mentioned in brackets. Finally, it delivers a rating between 1 and 10 points, which is based on music press reviews, the Rolling Stone magazine and my own personal opinion. T.J. Employing Foucauldian, Foucauldian feminist, and Social Constructivist frameworks, I illuminate issues of reality construction, knowledge, and power related to the homebirth experience. Participants expressed distinctions between biomedical and midwifery models. They described complex processes whereby women’s bodies are transformed into docile bodies through disciplinary technologies, including control of ideology and panopticonic domination of time, space, and movements of the body.

    PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Friday, October 7, 2011 CONTACT: Patrick Finlon, Marketing Director 315-443-2636 or [email protected] Syracuse Stage’s The Boys Next Door Finds Comedy and Compassion in a Group Home for People with Developmental Disabilities (Syracuse, NY)—Meet Arnold Wiggins. He’s basically a nervous person. He lives with Lucien P. Smith who fancies very big books, and Norman who works in the doughnut shop, and Barry who has schizophrenia and has convinced himself that he is a golf pro. In addition to an apartment, these guys share a caseworker named Jack who, despite his genuine concern for his clients, is on the verge of total burn-out. The Boys Next Door is a gentle comedy from the late 80s set in a group home for people who are developmentally disabled. As playwright Tom Griffin reveals the daily struggles of his characters to make sense of their world and their places in it, he reminds us to consider how much we take for granted every day. The Boys Next Door is very funny and very touching. Running October 19 through November 6, The Boys Next Door will be performed in the Archbold Theatre at Syracuse Stage, 820 East Genesee Street.
