Club—Alev raced for the Joulu Skiclub and the Estonian National Team before coming to Colorado. He participated in the World Ski Championships in Lahti, Finland on Feb. 25, 2017, finishing 15th in the 15K Skiathlon. He also won seven European Forestman’s Championships and competed in the sprint classic final at the World Cup held in Drammen on March 8, 2017. In the Estonian National Championships on Feb. 12, 2017, he placed fourth in the 15K classical race held in Otepää. At the Austrian National Championships in Ramsau am Dachstein, he finished second in the 10K freestyle pursuit and also placed second in the 15K classic. He had a ninth-place showing in the 15K freestyle mass start in the Alpen Cup held in Goms, Switzerland on Dec. 18, 2016. On Feb. 15, 2014 at the Latvia National Championships in Priekuli, he won the 10K classic race.
