For formatting characters, apart from changing colour, size, font and style, you can also apply text effects: superscript, subscript, all capitals (capital letters), small capitals and strikethrough. Before you begin to perform operations on text, let’s learn basic terms which will be used during this lesson. Various terms used by historians, typeface designers as well as used commonly for defining lowercase and uppercase letters are presented below. uppercase letters - majuscules – all capitals – all caps – small capitals – small caps – capitals – block capitals – block letters – capitalized letters

In order to apply a text effect to selected text, use the tools on the Home tab, in the Font group (subscript, superscript, strikethrough) or use the Font dialogue box which appears when you select the arrow icon in the bottom right corner of this group.

Determine which sentence is true.
All capitals (all caps) is a text in which all characters are lowercase letters but of the height of uppercase letters. Small capitals (small caps) is a text with characters that resemble capital letters but they are of the height of lowercase (small) letters. A subscript is a character that is set below the baseline of type and is reduced in size. A superscript is a character that is set above the baseline of type and is enlarged.

Uczniowie przypominają sobie parametry czcionki, które już poznali:
- kolor, - rozmiar, - krój czcionki, - style (pogrubienie, kursywa, podkreślenie).

Otwórz edytor tekstów zainstalowany na twoim komputerze i sprawdź, jakie inne formatowanie czcionki możesz zobaczyć.
Do formatowania czcionek, oprócz zmiany koloru, rozmiaru, kroju czcionki czy stylów, możemy również wykorzystać efekty: indeks górny, indeks dolny, kapitaliki, wersaliki oraz przekreślenie.
