EPA: - Work Plan for the Registration of Conventional Pesticides Work Plan for Registration of Conventional Pesticides

The Registration Division's FY2003 Work Plan identifies 19 new chemical candidates for decision- making during the fiscal year. From these 19 candidates, the Agency anticipates making 12 registration decisions. Five (5) of these chemicals have twenty nine (29) associated uses classified as "reduced-risk." Four (4) of these chemicals have seven (7) associated uses classified as organophosphate alternatives. The work plan includes more candidates than anticipated actual decisions. It serves as a candidate pool for achieving the registration program's regulatory goals for the fiscal year and has historically included more decision candidates than anticipated completions to ensure that the Agency's regulatory goals are met.

Work Plan for Registration of Conventional Pesticides FY2003 New Use Candidates for Already-Registered Chemicals

The listing below identifies approximately 320 potential new uses for 65 already-registered chemicals. From these new use candidates, the Agency anticipates issuing 230 new use decisions. Thirty five (35) of these new uses are classified as "reduced-risk" uses. As opportunities arise during the course of the fiscal year, additional new use candidates may be added to this list for decision- making. Any additions to this list will be subjected to the prioritization criteria outlined in Pesticide Registration Notice 97-2 and 98- 7.

The work plan includes more candidates than anticipated actual decisions. It serves as a candidate pool for achieving the registration program's regulatory goals for the fiscal year and has historically included more decision candidates than anticipated completions to ensure that the Agency's regulatory goals are met.
