Requested EU support: 20.90% The Action addresses studies and works related to the section Saarbrücken- Recommended funding: Ludwigshafen of the line Baudrecourt-Mannheim, which is part of the Atlantic Corridor and a pre-identified section in Annex I of the CEF Regulation. The Action Recommended total eligible includes six activities: constructing the subsurface strengthening of the Neustadt- €128 869 000 costs: Bohl/Iggelheim section; constructing the renovation of the superstructure and of Recommended funding: €26 931 800 the overhead contact wire system of the Neustadt-Bohl/Iggelheim section; planning the remodelling of the Einsiedlerhof-Vogelweh section and of Landstuhl Recommended EU support: 20.90% station; constructing the section between Landstuhl and Kaiserslautern including remodelling Landstuhl station; revising planning of the ETCS trackside equipment; implementing the ETCS trackside equipment between the German/French border and Ludwigshafen.

Evaluation Remarks

The relevance of the Action to the TEN-T and the call priorities is excellent. It addresses studies and works related to Saarbrücken-Ludwigshafen section of Baudrecourt-Mannheim line, which is part of the Atlantic Corridor. The maturity of the Action is very good and it is ready to start having received all political commitments. The procurement is in place as well as all required technical permissions. The impact of the Action is very good both at socio-economic and environmental level. The CBA demonstrated positive results. The proposal is of very good quality in terms of its logic, completeness and clarity.
