① Before making an application, calculate the total of the length, width, and height of the oversized garbage. ③ In accordance with the guidance from the reception center, please provide your address, name, telephone number, the type of garbage to be collected, R the number of items, the size (the total of the length, width, and height) and e whether the garbage truck can get to the front of your house. c ④ The reception center will tell you the collection date, the collection e location, your reception number, how many oversized garbage p disposal tickets you will need and any other necessary information. t i ⑤ Please purchase oversized garbage disposal tickets from a o convenience store or post office within Yao City. n ・ See page 5 for information about the outlets that sell the tickets. ・ The garbage collectors do not accept cash, so you must purchase the tickets beforehand.

⑥ Please write down the collection date and reception number on your oversize C garbage disposal tickets. ●What is oversized garbage?● Oversized garbage refers to household waste items (excluding recyclable electrical goods and computers with a PC recycle mark) that are too large for the designated bags. The bags designated for "Burnable Garbage", "Complex Garbage" and "Landfill Garbage" should be used as a standard depending on the type of materials of the oversized garbage. Please note that there are some garbage items that cannot be collected or disposed by the city. ・ See page 7 for the main items that cannot be collected or disposed.

Do not try to force the oversized garbage items into the designated bags by breaking or dismantling them. Doing so may result in the bag breaking and the contents spilling out. It may also result in injury.

（１） There is a limit to the frequency and the number of items per collection request. ・ Each household can request pickup for up to eight items at a time. (One month should be allowed between collections)

（２） Handling charges apply for oversized garbage. ・ There is a handling charge of 400 yen for each item. If the total of an item's length, width and height is over 3 meters, the handling charge for that item will be 800 yen. Please note that there are exceptions for special items. ・ See page 3 for the special items.

（３） Please measure the oversized garbage correctly. ・ See page 4 for how to measure the garbage. （４） You must purchase oversized garbage disposal tickets. ・ See page 5 for how to purchase oversized garbage disposal tickets and page 6 for how to attach the tickets to garbage. ・ Please write down the collection date on the oversized garbage disposal ticket receipt and be sure to keep it in a safe place until the garbage is collected.

（５） Please put out the oversized garbage in the arranged place by 8:00am on the day of collection as indicated by the oversized garbage reception center. ・ The time of collection cannot be designated. （６） The garbage will not be collected in certain cases, including the following: ① The garbage differs from the description given when the application was made; ② The oversized garbage disposal tickets cannot be confirmed; ③ The number of oversized garbage disposal tickets is insufficient; ④ Other garbage items are included with the oversized garbage; and so on. （７） If, after having made an appointment, there are changes to the garbage, you must inform the oversized garbage reception center up to four days before the scheduled collection date (excluding Saturdays and Sundays.) If you wish to cancel the application, you must inform the center up to the day before the scheduled collection date (excluding Saturdays and Sundays.)

Calculate the total of the length, width and height of the item in its original state (i.e. the state in which it is used.)

－4－ Handling Charges for Oversized Garbage

There is one type of oversized garbage disposal ticket and it is 400 yen. When making an application, the oversized garbage reception center will inform you of the number of oversized garbage disposal tickets you will need to purchase. * If the total of the length, width and height of a garbage item exceeds three meters, that garbage item will require two 400 yen tickets. * The garbage collectors will not accept cash. You must write down the collection date and reception number.

* Once attached, the oversized garbage disposal ticket cannot be reattached, so please use caution when applying it to the item.

* Be sure to keep the oversized garbage disposal ticket receipt in a safe place until the garbage is collected. You should write down the collection date on the receipt before storing it.

Please attach the oversized garbage disposal tickets in a place where they can be easily seen and in a way that ensures the collectors can see the reception number.

－6－ The Main Items that Cannot be Collected/Disposed

Industrial waste, dangerous materials and other such items that cannot be processed may cause fire in the collection vehicles, injuries to the workers and breakdowns in disposal facilities. Do not dispose of these items as garbage. ★ The main items that cannot be collected/disposed

－7－ Oversized Garbage Q&A

Ｑ What criteria is used to determine whether garbage is too large for the designated bags?

A Garbage is considered too large if the garbage bag cannot be tied up. In other words, if part of the garbage sticks out from the bag, then it is oversize garbage.

Ｑ Can't I dismantle the oversized garbage item when I put it out for collection?

A You may dismantle the item in order to make it easier to move or carry from the front of your house. However, please measure the item before dismantling it.

Ｑ What should I do if I have a lot of garbage for reasons such as moving house?

A This will be treated as provisional garbage ("RINJI GOMI".) You should make a request for collection at the Yao City Oversize Garbage Reception Center. There is a handling charge of 20,000 yen per 2 ton truck.

Ｑ Can I take the garbage directly to the disposal facility?

A Excluding items that cannot be collected or processed (see page 7,) garbage will be received for a fee at the Yao City Municipal Recycling Center (Akebono-cho 2-11.) (If the oversized garbage contains ceramic items, it should be taken to the Final Disposal Site for General Waste [Kamio-cho 9-36]) Please be aware that the person who brings the garbage must be the same person who prepared the garbage or someone in the same household. The person bringing the garbage must therefore also bring a means of identification such as a driving license. For further details, please contact the Environment Facilities Division.

Ｑ What should I do with excess oversized garbage disposal tickets?

A You can use your excess tickets the next time you put out oversized garbage, so you should keep them in a safe place. You can also get a cash refund for any unused tickets you hold by carrying out the procedure designated by the Yao City Environment Division.
