  • Renault Launches New Renault Symbol in South America
PRESS RELEASE December 23, 2008 RENAULT LAUNCHES NEW RENAULT SYMBOL IN SOUTH AMERICA • New Renault Symbol, the carmaker's elegant and seductive new three-box model will be marketed in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay in 2009. It is being presented today in Argentina, less than four months after its unveiling at the Moscow Motor Show. • New Renault Symbol will be manufactured for all of South America at the Santa Isabel (Cordoba) plant in Argentina. • This new launch is the latest in an unprecedented product offensive in South America. New Renault Symbol is the sixth vehicle the carmaker has introduced there since 2006, following Mégane Sedan, Mégane Grand Tour, Logan, Sandero and Sandero Stepway. • Thanks to this rejuvenated range of cars adapted to the needs of local customers, Renault's sales rose in the region in 2008. At end-November 2008, its sales were up 6.5% (more than 240,000 cars, including 100,000 in Brazil and nearly 75,000 in Argentina) in a market that grew by 4.4%. New Renault Symbol, an elegant and status-enhancing sedan for South America New Renault Symbol arrives in South America in the first half of 2009, following its launch in Turkey, Russia, Eastern Europe and the Maghreb in the second half of 2008. This new car in the Renault line-up has been specially designed to meet the needs of international customers who want an elegant, spacious, low-maintenance family car. In South America, as in most fast-growing markets, car owners are looking for versatility – everyday transport for the family, commutes – and New Renault Symbol provides it.

The decision to showcase the Renault 4 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its launch is an acknowledgment of its special place in Renault's history – and in automobile history more generally – and of its continued strong presence in the automotive world, particularly among young people. But most importantly, the Renault 4 resonates with the different values conveyed by the brand's new slogan, which means it cannot perfectly illustrate how these values are rooted in the genes of Renault.

Press Kit March 27, 2018 For 120 years Renault has been committed to making its customers’ lives easier every day Since its formation 120 years ago Renault has had three lives. That of the company’s founder (1898- 1944), that of the Régie Nationale des Usines Renault (RNUR), wholly owned by the French State (1945- 1995), and that of Renault SA (1995-present). Nevertheless, these three lives form a single experience, the life of a car manufacturer that has always deftly adapted to changing times, changing societies, and evolving economies. Over 120 years, Renault has stayed wholly in tune with the demands of an ever broader and more international clientele, remaining the beating heart of automotive life to fulfil those aspirations, measuring and analyzing societal changes in a mobility-loving world, where the freedom to move, to travel, to endeavor became increasingly essential. Renault’s longevity was built on the understanding of lifestyles and uses, the desire to make people the defining element in the worlds of automobiles and technology. What makes a Renault a Renault today? Looking back through history, we can see that it is a vehicle forged by values, expressed through models that combine automotive passion, exploration, discovery, family, work, recreation…and emancipation. Driven by passion The automobile was the inventive offspring of the second industrial revolution that transformed the 20th century, an adventure for both mankind and technology, one in which creativity and passion were given free reign and the automobile was a catalyst for progress. But engineers and mechanics were not the only soldiers in this revolution: The general public took part, transformed during that century from observers to users.
