Resumo O presente artigo aborda a relação entre internet e os espaços digitais que surgiram com seu advento: as comunidades virtuais e as redes de relacionamentos. Também constitui este artigo o marketing pessoal em perfis criados na rede de relacionamento Orkut. Para fazer este artigo, foi utilizada pesquisa bibliográfica e configurações empíricas da pesquisa da comunicação, como abordagens de teor cartográfico (mapeamento de elementos existentes na rede) e abordagens de teor textual (análise de palavras, objetos sonoros, imagens e outras linguagens). Este estudo selecionou cinco perfis de integrantes de bandas de pagode de Santa Maria/RS. Como resultado, pode-se perceber que todos os perfils analisados reafirmam a identidade de pagodeiros natos, relacionando esse grupo com mulheres, bebidas e futebol. Essa evolução gerou também mudanças para a vida humana. O desenvolvimento tecnológico, segundo Steffen (2005), se refletiu nas tecnologias de comunicação, com o surgimento e desenvolvimento do rádio, do cinema, da televisão, a popularização dos jornais, das revistas e, no final do século, com o surgimento de uma nova mídia: a Internet. -

Living In Manaus With Carlos Melo de Souza, aged 9 This locality study is based around the life of Carlos and his family who live in Brazil. In this study we are taking part in the life of the Melo de Souza family. They live in a booming city called Manaus, which is situated in the developing Northern region of Brazil. The city is surrounded by the Amazon rainforest. 1. Meet the Melo de Souza Family Carlos is nine and lives in a big city called Manaus. It is in the middle of the Amazon Forest. It is the capital of the Brazilian state of Amazonas. The area where he lives is named “Cidade Nova” (New City in Portuguese). It is a new area of the city east of the old centre. Carlos lives with his father, mother and 3 sisters who are 20, 17 and 7 years old. His 11-year- old brother, adopted when he was born, is an Amazonian Indian. Carlos’s father owns a shop. He sells menswear such as shirts and trousers. He travels into Manaus each day by car. It takes him 25 minutes when the traffic is not too busy. THE SOUZA CHILDREN AT HOME 5b. The rugged mountainous landscape has produced an abundance of natural wonders, such as rivers, waterfalls, lakes and valleys; the island is criss-crossed with 365 rivers. On this trip enjoy tubing on the Layou River, the largest river in Dominica. Travel about 40 minutes by bus to the launch site for the safety briefing, after which you will be provided with your life vest, modified inner tube, and paddle before getting into the river. After a lesson on the river bank, guides will position you into a large tube. With everyone in the water, your guides will set you loose to begin your journey, gently spinning and swirling in the current while taking in the changing scenerry. Mestiçagem, Malandragem, E Antropofagia: How Forró Is Emblematic of Brazilian National Identity

Mestiçagem, Malandragem, e Antropofagia: How Forró Is Emblematic of Brazilian National Identity A relatively recent cultural phenomenon (dating from the mid-twentieth century), forró music arose in the Brazilian northeast “backlands” and has since developed into a national “treasure” of folkloric “tradition.” This paper – part of a much larger ethnographic project - seeks to situate a particular style of forró music at the epicenter of an “imagined community” which Brazilians look toward as a major source of national identity. In this presentation I will show that mestizagem, malandragem, and antropofagia - three traditions conspicuously present in any scholarly discussion of Brazilian identity – are strikingly present in forró music and performance, making forró emblematic of national identity for a large part of the Brazilian population. Forró, a modern rural music, takes its name from a nineteenth-century dance form called forróbodo. Like other young Brazilian musics, it is constantly evolving, though a “traditional” base line has been conserved by several “roots” bands – it is this “traditional” music, called forró pé-de-serra, that provides the soundtrack to the imagined community1 through which I claim many Brazilians reinforce their national identity. The pé-de-serra style is generally played by three-piece bands including an accordion, a triangle, and a double-headed bass drum called the “zabumba.” (The two more recent – and quite popular - styles which I have not linked to my analysis are more synthesized versions called forró universitário and forró estilizado.) While credit for developing present-day forró goes to Luis Gonzaga, its genealogy traces back many more generations to the zabumba ensemble groups of the northeast, which featured the forementioned bass drum along with several fife and fiddle players. -

The city was a landmark in the history of town plan- ning, and was recognised as a world heritage site in 1987. Urban planner Lucio Costa and architect Oscar Niemeyer intended that every element—from the layout of the residential and administrative districts to the symmetry of the buildings themselves—should be in harmony with the city’s overall design. The official buildings, in particular, are innovative and imaginative. Plans were first proposed to move the capital of Brazil to the interior highlands in 1789. The new location pro- motes the development of the interior and unifies the country. The satellite images show the dramatic growth and transformation of Brasilia. Entre a ordem e a desordem: A malandragem no Império de Martins Pena Renata Silva Almendra * Resumo : O presente artigo visa fazer uma breve apresentação da prática da malandragem entre homens e mulheres livres no Rio de Janeiro na primeira metade do século XIX, utilizando como fontes as comédias escritas por Martins Pena entre os anos de 1833 e 1847. Os personagens que Martins Pena colocou nos palcos da Corte nos mostram um pouco do jogo de cintura e do “jeitinho” necessários para transformar as desvantagens em vantagens e, assim, sobreviver de modo criativo nessa sociedade imperial que cresce e se desenvolve apresentando-se repleta de. tradições, contradições e possibilidades. Abstract : The present article seeks to do a brief presentation of the practice of the roguery between men and free women in Rio de Janeiro in the first half of the century XIX, using as sources the comedies writings for Martins Grieves among the years of 1833 and 1847. The characters that Martins Pena placed at the stages of the Court show us a little of the waist game and of the "necessary way" to transform the disadvantages in advantages and, like this, to survive in a creative way in that imperial society that grows and he/she/it develops coming replete of. traditions, contradictions and possibilities.
