Wasmeier: Na ja, wenn damals jemand damit angefangen hätte zu fragen, was in 30 Jahren sein wird, dann hätte ich ihm gesagt, dass ich möglicherweise gar nicht so alt werde. Nein, das war eigentlich nie das Thema, ich wollte eigentlich immer nur denjenigen, der gerade ganz oben steht, schlagen. Zu der Zeit damals war das der Ingemar Stenmark. Den wollte ich wenigstens einmal hinter mir lassen. Er hat mich einmal wirklich fertiggemacht in einem ganz normalen FIS-Slalom: Ich war da in einem Lauf acht Sekunden hinter ihm! Ich habe mir damals geschworen: "Weißt was, Bursch, dich pack ich auch mal!" Halke-Teichmann: Genau, und Stenmark war ja als Mega-Sieger wirklich eine Legende.
